Over the summer, ARCO Regional Safety Director, Christopher Gruber, and the American Red Cross teamed up to train 20+ Scouts and their parents in the life-saving skills of First Aid and CPR. For most, it was their first opportunity to learn how to react in an emergency, stop severe bleeding, give CPR, and use an AED. Scouts learned to properly treat heat injuries, cold injuries, choking, and assist in the application of an EpiPen. Their parents worked on refreshing skills they had not been trained on for years. Our associates’ commitment to giving back is evident in everything they do. This training was a valuable way to enhance the safety and preparedness of local Scouts and their families.
