St. Francis Campus is proud to be a part of a long legacy of high-quality, compassionate care. St. Francis hospital began serving its community in 1909 as the mission of a group of Catholic nuns who rose up to meet a need. Today, the hospital has 378 licensed beds, a history of technological advancements, and a generous and supportive community. In 2017, through a partnership between Ardent Health Services and The University of Kansas Health System, St. Francis embarked on a new era. Ardent is renowned for its outstanding record of community investment, leading edge technology, and health care achievements to the hospital’s management. The University of Kansas Health System is known for its medical and surgical advancements, quality of care, research, and expansive provider network. Both organizations are dedicated to building healthier communities through world-class health care. With our new name we began a new chapter. She’s all about building meaningful relationships, fostering trust and ensuring that every healthcare decision reflects her patients' unique needs and values. “I believe in empowering my patients to take an active role in their health journey, always listening and respecting their autonomy,” says Rochelle. Rochelle earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from Washburn University in Topeka. She’s ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.   • Join us in welcoming Christina Peterson, MD, back to Topeka and our urology team! Dr. Peterson, a proud Topeka native and Washburn Rural High School alumna, completed her urology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, known for its innovative care and top-ranked training. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Kansas State University. "I am incredibly excited to return to Topeka and give back to the community that shaped me," Dr. Peterson shares. "I look forward to bringing leading-edge treatments to my patients and getting to know each person individually, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care." Outside of work, Dr. Peterson enjoys watching K-State and Chiefs football, playing tennis and pickleball and attending her niece and nephew’s events. She also has deep ties to Lindsborg, Kansas, "Little Sweden," where her family resides. Dr. Peterson specializes in general adult urology, including laser applications, endourology, robotic nephrectomy and urologic oncology.
