I'm so excited to announce I will be helping moderate The Team's All Star Meeting on October 8th to celebrate and amplify the impact that athletes are having beyond their sport! Find the link and info below to come join this amazing event! INVITE INFO: We are excited to invite you, your teams, your colleagues to The Team's 2024 Virtual All Star Meeting. This national nonpartisan event for athletes, coaches and administrators is designed to celebrate and expand the unique impact that athletes can have on our campuses, communities and our future. We have an epic line-up, featuring student athletes interviewing NCAA President Charlie Baker, UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin, Maryland's Governor Wes Moore, Olympic Rower Claire Collins, Seattle Storm’s Nneka Ogwumike, Cassidy Lichtman Athletes Unlimited and HEADLINER Phoenix Mercury All Star Natasha Cloud. We have surpassed our goal and are hosting a whopping 122 student athlete watch parties across the country! These watch parties will bring together an estimated 10,000 athletes, coaches, and supporters to gather, eat pizza, develop a voting plan, and watch the event on a big screen. Day 4 of #CivicImaginationWeek celebrates the power of ENGAGED ATHLETES who are using their voices and influence to shape better futures! 🏅 If you read my LinkedIn posts, you know I've long been passionate helping athletes& coaches have a positive impact beyond their sport. (See: NCAA is having a Ted Lasso Moment: https://lnkd.in/g7N4eJpi) It's been awesome to see the imaginative ways that athletes are flexing their "civic muscles" to fostering positive connections and collective impact that can transcend division and disengagement. Below are just a few of these truly inspiring initiatives that you can join, follow and amplify! 🍕🍕 "Civic Tailgating" for the Win! Fall is not just a time for football tailgating. It’s also for Civic Tailgating! On Tuesday, Oct 8th, The Team will be hosting a virtual civic pep rally by bringing a together diverse group of civic “shot makers” on and off the court including former footballer Gov. Wes Moore, WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) star Natasha Cloud,  NCAA President Charlie Baker, 2x NIL Male Player of the year and UCLA QB Chase Griffin, among dozens of The Team's Civic Captains and Engaged Athlete Fellows across the country. To add to the fun, team tailgates will be furnished with free pizza from Pizza to the Polls (Yes, "In crust we trust."). We've got nearly 50 watch parties planned, and are excited to recruit more! Teams can register and sign up to host their own watch party on The Team's website: www.theteam.org (Deadline for pizza is Fri, 9/29). This civic pep rally follows the super successful 2022 event when 2000 athletes gathered in team watch parties (complete with mascots) to gain civic inspiration from sports icons like Stephen Curry, Stanford Athletics' most winning coach Tara VanDerveer, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Demario Davis, and others. (h/t to Coaches Eric Reveno and Joe Kennedy for starting the "All Vote No Play" movement, to the NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee for student leadership, and thousands of athletes and coaches who have brought it to their campuses). This effort, supported by amazing groups like Revolve Impact's Athletes for Impact is also collaborating with Amplifier to spearhead creative GOTV initiatives. I am thrilled to announce my acceptance into the 2024-2025 Engaged Athlete Fellowship cohort with The Team! This incredible program empowers student-athletes to enhance nonpartisan civic participation through a year-long community service project. My project will focus on a financial education series specifically designed for female student-athletes. While many details are still in the works, I’m excited to collaborate with my mentors and bring this initiative to life. Proud to share that I’ve been selected to participate in The Team’s Civic Captain Initiative, representing Drexel University! As a Civic Captain, I’ll be: - Championing The Team programming on campus, and working as a campus organizer to inspire change. - Leading volunteer voter registration and participation opportunities, especially focusing on civic holidays like National Voter Registration Day and All Vote No Play Day. - Leveraging my social media platform to encourage civic engagement and voter participation among my peers, and becoming a civic influencer on campus. - Aiming to improve civic and voting practices within our athletic department and across our campus as a whole. I’m looking forward to making a difference on my campus and empowering others to use their voices. Let’s work together to make every vote count!

I’m excited to share that I’ve recently been named a (The Team) Engaged Athlete Fellow! Throughout this upcoming school year, I will be utilizing my platform as a student-athlete to make meaningful change in my community and empower others to do the same. My project includes increasing voter turnout at UVA by civically educating my peers. I’m excited to get this kick started!

I am stoked to be a part of the second-ever cohort of Engaged Athlete Fellows! As a fellow, I will spend the year working with The Team (co-founded by NU Alum Joe Kennedy) to plan and execute a year-long project related to civic engagement on college campuses. I will also combine efforts with another fellow from NU, Sydney Smith, to coordinate civic engagement opportunities for student-athletes on Northwestern's campus and beyond. I can't wait to pursue the opportunities this fellowship provides me with; particularly, I am so excited to combine my two favorite things: athletics and politics! As student-athletes, we are both culture-makers and political actors. Being a student-athlete has given me a louder voice with which to advocate for what I believe in, and I can say with confidence that Northwestern University's athletic department and student body have both inspired and encouraged me to use that voice.
