This weekend, our Tampa-St. Petersburg team set up the Emergency Response Unit bright and early, ready to assist crews, employees and their families. We had around 40 people come through as we handed out 6 generators and kept 3 aside for others who could not drive over due to gas shortage in their area. Everyone was extremely relieved to see team members safe and sound. While some of our Suddath team had their homes and neighborhoods suffer, it was a good day where we banded together to lend a hand, giving out roofing supplies, ice, and food alongside smiles and support. A big thank you to Suddath Van Operator Bill Bruning for driving the unit down, hanging out and helping all day, along with Operations Manager, Ann-Marie Joaquin, for continuing to manage and guide the team locally, as well as Eastern Regional Operations Director, JP Eschbacher, for his leadership.

PLEASE SHARE: HURRICANE ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE We're relieved to say all affected Suddath employees are accounted for and safe after #HurricaneMilton. While thankfully damage wasn't as devastating as feared, our Emergency Response Unit is heading to our Tampa location to assist employees who may need it. Area employees will be contacted directly via email or phone with further instruction. While our first priority is assisting our employees, we are also available to help #Tampa, #Orlando, #Clearwater, #StPete, #SiestaKey and #Sarasota in a few different ways: 🔷If there are charities who need area storage/transportation for larger shipments of donations. 🔷If you need long-term storage for household goods while your home is being renovated from storm damage. 🔷We are able to assist any retail, restaurant, office spaces and hospitality properties who were affected and need renovations. Please reach out via direct message with any request so we can assess if and how Suddath can assist.

What does the inside of the Suddath Emergency Response Unit look like? Here is an inside shot from yesterday as we stocked it up to prepare for #HurricaneMilton. While we hope it is never deployed, we have our Van Operator and employee volunteers ready to go. The Suddath Emergency Response Unit is fully outfitted to help our branches, employees, clients, and communities should it be needed: ☑ It is painted "FBI Blue" which is the same color the FBI uses on all their command mobile centers. ☑ The trailer is equipped with outside emergency lighting, all the decals on the trailer are reflective, along with a retractable awning that is rated for winds at 120 mph. ☑ It is equipped with an on-board generator system by Gen-Tec. ☑ An on-board auxiliary fuel system that provides fuel to the generator which allows it to only use 2.5 gallons a day. With a 40-gallon fuel auxiliary tank, it can run for up to 16 days straight. ☑ 5 all-weather receptacles on the outside for cell phone charging and extension cord hookup. ☑ A mobile kitchen system with two large deep freezers that are placed on board and equipped with food. Once the freezers have been brought down to temperature then the generator system will keep everything frozen until needed. ☑ It is freshly equipped with needed disaster supplies, from batteries, brand new mobile generators, building materials, food, and fresh potable water. We urge everyone to put safety first and foremost as #Milton hits Florida tonight. You still have time to prepare, do as much as you can for your family and neighbors.

There is no better way to understand the culture and principles of Suddath than through the stories we tell. When events like #HurricaneHelene are upon us, we remember one of our favorites, as told by Babs Suddath Strickland in Suddath's 100-Year Anniversary documentary. Babs shares her memory of one evening when she was a child and a hurricane was bearing down on Florida, and how her father, Dick Suddath, answered the call from a family in need and rushed to help. Suddath has been based in Florida for over a century, and going the extra mile for our community is woven into our history and company DNA. https://lnkd.in/eeHKjSUB
