There was a full house at The Second City New York last night as Padma Lakshmi took to the stage and delivered responses to questions like “If you could choose three people, dead or alive to include at a dinner party, who would they be?” and “What is your favorite restaurant to visit in Williamsburg?” From her responses, the cast performed an improv sketch incorporating key elements that had the audience in hysterics. From learning her favorite restaurant in Williamsburg is Llama Inn, the sketch quickly devolved into two cast mates impersonating llamas getting married... comedy, right!? You never know who might show up at The Second City. Learn more about their upcoming shows and secure your tickets at the link below. https://lnkd.in/eQsYm-kR

Can the best team-building lessons come from comedy clubs? After a night at The Second City Mainstage Revue in Chicago, we say a big yes! What began as a fun evening of laughter quickly turned into an unexpected lesson in team dynamics. Improv comedy isn’t just about quick wit; it’s a masterclass in trust and collaboration. Watching performers navigate scenes, respond to cues, and create a cohesive narrative on the fly highlighted a core truth: trust is the bedrock of any effective team. This wasn’t a corporate workshop filled with buzzwords and forced exercises; it was a real-time demonstration of collaboration, where every misstep became an opportunity and every punchline a shared victory. Improv classes have become team-building essentials for a reason. They cut through pretense, spark genuine connections, and make everyone feel valued. At Being Collective, we’re inspired to infuse workplaces with authentic human experiences. That’s why we make time to embrace the moments that connect us and see the power of genuine interaction. It’s profound how something as simple and natural as laughter can forge deep bonds and transform uncertainty into creativity. Kudos to the cast of The Second City—thank you for the laughs and the lessons!

Looking forward to a great day thinking about the future. Starting off strong with a talk from Chuck Robbins talking about AI. A couple key points so far: The companies that will extract the most value from AI are those with the richest data. We need to be careful about over rotating on what AI can do, can replace. Looking forward to Ed Wells taking the stage later this afternoon to share The Second City story. #wsjfutureofeveryrhing #futureofbusiness #innovation

Fun to be on someone else's podcast for a change. Especially when I get to chat to Bruce Daisley. I was presenting to a group of college kids last night and mentioned that I had worked at a video store in the 1980's. One of the kids said, "What's a video store?" Since I was talking about using improvisation as a practice for navigating the uncertainty and absurdity of modern life, it only felt appropriate to "Yes, And" the situation to highlight how each of us walk into a room with entirely different frames. If you can't maintain curiosity, humility and presence - you will never find the joy of transformation and discovery. And improv is the daily warm up for all of it. #improvisation #culture

Our very own Kelly Leonard was on Bruce Daisley's podcast "Eat Sleep Work Repeat" to talk about how skills of improv comedy are the most important ones that will determine our success at work. Take a listen or read through their conversation at eatsleepworkrepeat.com.

"We’re not just a live-event business. We use the tenets of improv and comedy in multiple ways, including professional development for clients like Meta, Accenture, Major League Baseball, and Nike." "When looked at New York City, we realized no one’s doing what we do―improv and sketch comedy, with fully realized productions, in a professional theatrical setting. We’re offering a state-of-the-art theater with set design, lighting, wardrobe, and music more akin to off-Broadway than to a traditional comedy venue." Read the full interview with our CEO Ed Wells about our new location in New York City and how we are filling the gaps in the market.
