We unite the community to meet immediate, critical education needs that will strengthen our public schools.
About us
For more than 30 years, the Public Education Foundation has brought the community together to support our public schools. In partnership with the Clark County School District and districts across the state of Nevada, we help guide effective investments in education to meet immediate, critical needs of our students, families, and educators. Together, we are driving public education forward. Thanks to our many community partners, we work to ensure every public school student can succeed through the following programs: Scholarships Plus provided $5 million in college scholarships this year to help students pursue their dreams of attending college or vocational school. The PEF Teacher Superstore (formerly the Teacher EXCHANGE) provides school supplies to teachers to reduce their out-of-pocket expenses. These supplies are then passed along to students who often can’t afford them. Teacher Pathway recruits, supports, and retains local diverse, qualified individuals committed to a teaching career in CCSD. This “grow your own” teacher training program focuses on addressing Clark County’s chronic teacher shortage. Family Learning Program utilizes national best practices to empower families to more effectively support their child's learning at school and strengthen life skills that help disrupt generational poverty. Artists With Kids inspires CCSD students to express their creativity and foster a lifelong engagement in the arts by creating experiences that connect them with community artists. Building on the successes of the past 30 years, PEF is continuing its collaboration with community organizations dedicated to improving public education and introducing new programs to address the greatest needs of our public schools. Introducing Giselle, a recent graduate from the Teacher FastTrack program! Giselle is beginning her teaching career at Gibson Elementary School, where she’ll be inspiring and educating our amazing 2nd graders! “The Teacher FastTrack program provided the academic, financial, and moral support to facilitate my journey to achieving licensure - I am beyond grateful, thank you so much PEF!”

During a recent visit to the University of Nevada, Reno, we had the pleasure of reconnecting with some of our Charles and Phyllis Frias Legacy Scholars, along with recent graduates from the inaugural cohort of mentees in the Teacher FastTrack program! It was such a joy to see them shine in their educational journeys!

A huge thank you to F1 Las Vegas for their incredibly generous $60,000 donation for the Hispanic and Latino Legacy Scholarship program! They also took a special moment to surprise the dedicated educators who supported our inaugural recipients throughout the application process with tickets to the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on October 1, 2017, and express our deepest gratitude to the first responders who tirelessly protect our community. We will never forget, and together, we remain #VegasStronger.

Are you going to the Hispanic and Latino Legacy Dinner? Parking is limited at the venue! Reminder: parking is first come, first served. If you choose to drive, you may need to park in nearby paid street parking and walk to the venue. We HIGHLY recommend using a rideshare service or carpooling with fellow attendees!
