Last month, we celebrated National Manufacturing Month, and NAFTZ Chair James Grogan shared some insights on the crucial role that U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones (#FTZs) play in supporting our manufacturing industry. FTZs empower American manufacturers, enhancing their global competitiveness, and driving economic growth through job creation, streamlined supply chains, and cash flow improvements. Looking ahead, James notes “as more manufacturers bring jobs and investments back to the U.S., FTZs should be leveraged to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. By prioritizing the U.S. FTZ program, we can enhance the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing and ensure that our industries are well-positioned to meet future challenges." Meet Torrey Chambliss, Director of FTZ & Cargo Business Development at Port Tampa Bay, a proud member of NAFTZ, and of the NAFTZ Board of Directors. Torrey shares a few words on behalf of NAFTZ, FTZs, and the Port Tampa Bay: 1. He welcomes all companies with locations in Latin America that already have or are looking to position themselves within a U.S. FTZ, especially those choosing Tampa. 2. He is grateful for the people of Hispanic heritage working within these companies, whose dedication helps their companies reach the organizational goals. 3. Torrey expresses his deepest gratitude for the opportunity to demonstrate that U.S. FTZs provides a powerful competitive advantage, both for companies and their employees. For this reason, we celebrate- and will continue to celebrate- people of Hispanic heritage participation in U.S. FTZs. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, Torrey! #HispanicHeritageMonth #ForeignTradeZones #FTZ #GlobalTrade #InternationalTrade #NAFTZ

National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) reposted this
🌙 I am over-the-moon excited to share that I have reached this goal! I have been designated by the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) as an Accredited Zone Specialist (AZS.) 😃 When I transitioned careers five years ago, (from environmental to trade and economic development) I never imagined that I would have the opportunities to learn, grow, and develop in this industry. Through #NAFTZ, I have found colleagues (many of whom have become FRIENDS) that have helped and guided me along the way. They invited me and encouraged me to participate, to learn, to network, to grow, and to lead. Thank you to each of you that connects with the new face you haven't met before. It truly makes a difference! I am especially grateful that I represent the best port in the country - Port Corpus Christi. I appreciate your investment in training, leadership development, marketing, and participation in NAFTZ events. To learn more about the AZS designation, please visit: https://lnkd.in/g3KukcfR

NAFTZ's Director of Advocacy, Melissa Irmen, AZS, CZS, joined a Washington International Trade Association (WITA) DC panel on "Regulating and Reforming De Minimis". Around minute 25, you can hear Melissa explain why parity for U.S. FTZs is critical to retaining U.S. warehousing jobs and how U.S. FTZs are a perfect partner with CBP to secure these packages whose volume and diversity is such a challenge. https://lnkd.in/dN29sgJF
