It is designed to recognize the many contributions workers have made to our country’s strength, prosperity, and well-being. This week at The Foundation… 💡Ready. Set. Go! We hosted our first Give Miami Day SET workshop in North Miami with Radical Partners! It was incredible to spend the morning strategizing and collaborating with 59 nonprofits and 68 attendees! We can’t wait for our next session coming up on September 12th in South Miami! 💬 We attended a lunch-and-learn to review the Trivest Giving Fund Employee Match Program that Trivest Partners offers their employees, along with learning the important work done by Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Achievement and Feeding South Florida. 🎙️ We had the chance to contribute to a ‘Pathways To Hope’ panel hosted by NAMI Miami-Dade. Our Community Engagement Senior Associate, Julissa, spoke about the importance of collaboration! 📅 Members of our team attended one of Chairman Oliver Gilbert III’s monthly roundtables! Each month, the Roundtable Series focuses on a key group to bring government representation closer to the people. 📑 We had special guest (and Miami Fellows Alumna!) Adele Valencia from LSN Law Firm join us for an all-staff meeting this week to discuss the structure of our local government, how policy and change happens at a local level, and the role we all can play to stay informed and civically engaged. 🏆 We selected our next Early-Bird prize winner for Give Miami Day! Our thoughts are with the family of Malaysia Dantzler, a toddler who tragically lost her life on August 19 in a drowning accident after becoming separated from her family at a park. In Florida, drowning remains the leading cause of death among young children, and at The Miami Foundation, we and our partners are dedicated to reducing this heartbreaking statistic to zero. This week at The Foundation… ⭐ We held our Activated Professionals Service & Learning Lunch at Greenberg Traurig, LLP where more than 50 community-minded professionals came to learn how they can play a role in building a greater Miami. We learned about the impact nonprofits across Miami are making, and we connected with Be Strong International , Global Empowerment Mission, and Miami Diaper Bank. 🌱 We loved seeing our fundholders and community partners out in community tending to mangroves and protecting our coastlines! 🪩 The Miami Foundation was honored to be recognized alongside our LGBTQ Equity Fund partner David Jobin, at the Pridelines gala this past weekend. ⏰ Our Saltwater Fellowship officially kicked off with its first retreat! We are looking forward to continuing this impactful journey with our fellows. 🗞️The Press Forward national team met in Miami and spent time reflecting on goals, visions and data - as well as joined our Wednesday all-staff meeting! 🎤 Our Miami Open for Business leader, Brittany, shared her knowledge and expertise at a roundtable conversation about the future of impact investing in South Florida. 🏙️  Our Miami Fellows had the chance to connect for a Happy Hour. We are getting so excited for the Miami Fellows Summit and Leadership Reception coming up on October 17th! 🏆 We selected our next Early Bird prize winner for Give Miami Day!
