This year, we were excited to be a participant of The Lawyers’ Advocates MEA 2024 event hosted on Wednesday 2 October at St. Regis, Business Bay, Dubai. Rita Jansen, Samaa Abdalla, Mostafa Emad, Hayley Rowcliffe and Omar Kharouf had the pleasure of attending and listening to a variety of insightful panel discussions covering topics such as adopting new technology, professional integrity, managing growth and empowering women leaders in law. In particular, a key message of the event was the need for law firms to be proactive in accepting and encouraging change in order to remain competitive. The discussion at The Lawyers' Advocates MEA 2024, led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab C.Arb, FCIArb , Founding partner of Zulficar & Partners Law Firm; Dr. Thomas Skouteris, Law Department Chair at The American University in Cairo; Sherif Maher, Partner at Clyde & Co; and Mohamed Khodeir محمد خضير, Founder & Managing Partner of Khodeir & Partners; focused on the real ethical challenges lawyers face every day. Client confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and the importance of maintaining public trust in our profession were key themes. Tarek Badawy, Partner at Meysan; moderated the discussion with care, making sure we all left thinking critically about how to uphold integrity in our own practices.
