In partnership with the Hawaii Department of Education and the Nanakuli - Waianae Complex, we are excited to announce the launch of the first Nanakuli and Waianae High School Internship Program! During this 6-week internship program, students have the opportunity to explore potential careers, gain valuable work experience, and get paid to learn. We extend our gratitude to our participating employers: Subway, No’eau Designers, and Ko Olina Resorts Aloha Team. Thank you for hosting and mentoring the student interns. We are excited to share the outcomes of the 6-week program and provide more information about its launch again in the Fall.

Children witness 68% to 80% of domestic abuse. I am one of those statistics. My mother was a victim of domestic abuse by my stepfather from the ages of 2-20. While I was never verbally or physically abused, I witnessed the abuse inflicted on her. Beginning this summer, I am honored to join the board of the Domestic Violence Action Center Hawaii. By serving my community, I hope to advocate for the children of victims, ensuring they have the support they need to overcome, break the cycle, create safe spaces, and create a better Hawaii for all families. https://lnkd.in/gCqWpUQS

The agency is devoted to U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.
