Thank you, American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), for honoring the global health legacy of President and Mrs. Carter. What an honor to have the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene devote an entire supplement to the Carter Center’s work! The issue features 16 articles authored or co-authored by Carter Center experts in programs including Guinea worm, mental health, river blindness, and trachoma that detail the research and efforts of our own team and those of our partners, including the ministries of health in the countries where we work – without whom this wouldn’t be possible!   “President and Mrs. Carter were pioneers and exemplars in global health as well as many other important fields, and it is a privilege to follow in their footsteps. We thank the society for this recognition and collaboration.” - Dr. Kashef Ijaz, vice president of health programs   bit.ly/3AQyeBf
