About us
The Advocates for Human Rights envisions a world in which every person lives with dignity, freedom, justice, equality, and peace. We are a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that investigates and exposes human rights violations such as violence against women; represents immigrants and refugees in our community who are victims of human rights abuses; trains and assists groups that protect human rights; and uses research, education, and advocacy to engage the public, policy makers, and children in our mission of implementing international human rights standards to promote civil society and reinforce the rule of law.

Observed every 10 October, the World Day Against the Death Penalty unifies the global abolitionist movement and mobilizes civil society, political leaders, lawyers, public opinion and more to support the call for the universal abolition of capital punishment. The Advocates for Human Rights opposes the use of the death penalty anywhere and everywhere, and works to abolish it through educational and advocacy efforts, creating legal tools and resources, as well as serving on the Steering Committee of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty. In the sprawling corridors of the United Nations (UN), where global policies intersect with the lives of individuals, three women stand united in their commitment to combatting gender-based violence and advocating for women's rights. Elena, Stephanie, and Susana, through their respective organizations, have found a common ground and a shared mission within the Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE) Network. Their collective efforts underscore the power of collaboration in navigating the complexities of international diplomacy and advocacy.
