A service-design consultancy improving government performance using customer experience as the primary driver of change

About us

We are a service-design consultancy that works shoulder-to-shoulder with our U.S. Government clients to improve government performance using customer experience (CX) as the primary driver of change. At Technical Assent, we envision a world where the U.S. Government sets the standards of service excellence; where everyone experiencing those services feels heard and respected; where people believe in the integrity and efficacy of government services; and where individuals are placed at the center of services as they’re being designed. In other words, we believe in Services That Inspire. Our company has been at the forefront of service design in government for more than a decade. We are a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and are appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration for Services (CMMI SVC) Level 3. At Technical Assent, we understand how important work/life balance is, so we're proud to have a flexible PTO policy. This summer, we are highlighting some of our colleagues' adventures across the U.S. and beyond as part of our Summer Adventure Series on Fridays. Consultant Jess Brown recently visited sunny Breckenridge, CO, with her partner and friends! We interviewed her about her trip highlights, and here's what she had to say: When did you go? | July 28-21, 2024 What was your favorite adventure or place? |  Hiking Monte Cristo Gulch, 12,000 elevation. Roughly three miles uphill! The tedious incline was worth the gorgeous views & all the critters we ran into. What was your favorite restaurant or meal? | Breckenridge Distillery, ordered Dak-Galbi, a Korean stir fried chicken dish. Do you have any advice for people who might want to visit? | Check out the many lakes around Breckenridge for some paddle boarding or kayaking! Pro tip for hiking/ being out in the wilderness: download a map of your trail and have some walkie-talkies (they are fun & help you stay connected when you don’t have service!) If so, what advice would you give for people wanting to visit? #PeakSummerFun #CultureMatters #TeamTechnicalAssent #employeeexperience

What do we do here at Technical Assent? A LOT! Thank you, Taoti Creative for your excellent work in helping us answer this oh-so-deceptively simple question without being so, well, technical.

Our client, Technical Assent, is a leader in service design for the federal government. Service design is important work that results in vastly improved customer experience, a top priority in government. The problem is the methodologies and terminology surrounding service design can be quite abstract and academic. We worked with Technical Assent to more clearly communicate their successful government service-design methodology and associated capabilities. This, in simple terms, as now seen on their new website, is what Technical Assent does. Sharing these notes from Technical Assent's service design lead, Suzanne Couming Atchison, who attended yesterday's update on the Biden-Harris PMA. There is so much inspiring work happening, especially in the area of customer experience and federal-employee experience! https://lnkd.in/g6955CKw

I just returned from an information-packed update on the Biden Harris-PMA: Driving Results for All and I'm feeling #inspired! It was awesome to hear about all the incredible things happening across government to strengthen & empower the federal workforce, enable exceptional customer experience across federal services, and create a more diverse and resilient federal marketplace. Loren DeJonge Schulman at #opm, here are some of my key takeaways: 1. Quote of the day from Nicole Evans at #treasury: "We make the thing we want the easiest thing to do." So impressed by her unwavering commitment to advance equity in the federal procurement process by opening up more opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses. How are they doing this you ask? First, clearly communicate a strong vision: "equity is the way we do business now." Second, ask good questions of industry: large businesses - "how are your efforts at partnering going?" and small businesses: "how might we lower the barriers to entry?" Finally, listen to and celebrate your workforce - those on the front lines who make a difference every day. 2. Do you know about Pathways Internship Programs? Elicia Moran and the #nationalsciencefoundation are celebrating a 97% conversion rate (turning today's interns into tomorrow's federal employees)! They're growing the next gen of federal workforce superstars through best practices such as career ladder development plans, local networking with community colleges and high schools, and maximizing the newly-released OPM regs to expand their candidate pool (to include graduates of trade and vocational schools, as well as registered apprenticeships). 3. Chris Given at the #irs, and Merici Vinton at #usds absolutely rocked the rollout of the Direct File pilot this year by staying committed to guiding principles such as "build with users, not for them" and "embrace access for ALL." Their side-by-side partnership with the IRS customer-support team ensured a consistent user experience and real-time, iterative feedback throughout the process. And their early, tangible prototypes ensured buy-in across stakeholder groups from the start. Outcome: A net-promoter score above 74 (on-par with those famous commercial baristas and phone makers)! #pma #fedcx#fedex #cx #ex #hcd #servicedesign
