Recruiters spend 7-9 seconds on each resume. But that stat is misleading... After all, the average corporate job posting receives 250 applications. And there are only so many hours in a day. Recruiters spend closer to 20 minutes on *qualified* resumes. Here are 5 tips to help your resume stand out in the screening stage: 1. Adjust your job title Align your job title to the job family you’re applying for, within reason. 2. Focus on relevance Showcase your most relevant accomplishments and skills near the top of their resume, following a reverse chronological format. 3. Add keywords Include essential job-related keywords in the job description that align with your skills and experience in your bullet points. (Teal helps automate this) 4. Add relevant details Include a line about previous employers with information like size, industry, product or service, and major initiatives for that year 5.
