Teach the World Foundation appreciates the launch of the District Education Performance Index (DEPIx) 2023, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Pakistan. DEPIx provides a comprehensive view of education performance across 134 districts, including key indicators like access, learning, equity, governance, infrastructure, and public financing. Such initiatives are critical in driving evidence-based improvements in education and ensuring accountability at all levels. We applaud the efforts of everyone involved in this impactful work and look forward to the positive changes it will inspire across the country. Our backstory to the report’s cover is quite moving. The photo captures a moment from one of our MicroSchools in a minority community with no prior access to education. A recent success story is that two 12 and 13 year old sisters were able to mainstream into a nearby school after attaining functional literacy. They both are now enrolled in grades 5 and 6. Their success highlights the powerful impact of initiatives and community-driven change on education in Pakistan. Together, let’s continue to champion quality education for every child in Pakistan!
