Our thoughts remain with those in the Asheville community and throughout the Southeast who were impacted by Hurricane Helene. With Tanger’s headquarters in Greensboro, NC, this tragedy hit close to home. Many of our team members and those of our retail partners, who work in our center stores and operations, as well as family members and friends, live in and around the communities that were in the storm’s path. At Tanger, we are deeply connected to our communities, and our hearts are especially with those in the greater Asheville community. Although Tanger Outlets Asheville is currently closed due to conditions in the area, the center has maintained power throughout this time, and we’re grateful to be hosting relief agencies and emergency first responders who are providing support for the region. And as they can, our Tanger team members are bringing rounds of much-needed supplies and resources to aid in clean-up and relief efforts in the Asheville area. Additionally, Tanger supports the American Red Cross in its disaster relief efforts. We are very pleased to welcome retail industry leader and former Gap Inc. CEO Sonia Syngal to Tanger’s Board of Directors. Ms. Syngal has nearly 30 years of industry experience and leadership, with a proven track record in global supply chain operations, brand management, and product-to-market innovation across the retail, technology, and automotive sectors. Tanger team members recently gathered in our nation’s capital to attend separate events that, while focused on different initiatives, shared a common thread that tied together two of our core values. The ICSC CBC Retail Real Estate Reception, in conjunction with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, celebrated the outstanding achievements of Black leaders in our industry and highlighted partnerships for the next generation. As an Advocate sponsor, Tanger presented several of our diversity and inclusion initiatives that exemplify our value to #SeekTheSuccessOfOthers. At Nareit’s REITworks: 2024 Sustainability & Social Responsibility Conference, members of our ESG and People & Culture teams gathered to network with industry peers and collaborate on strategies for environmental stewardship, diversity, inclusion, mentorship, and more.   Tanger CEO Stephen Yalof joined CNBC's “The Exchange” host Tyler Mathisen this week to discuss how Tanger is thriving in a market dominated by record-low vacancies and high retailer demand. According to Stephen, Covid completely changed the narrative around consumer shopping expectations, but Tanger’s portfolio is well positioned to meet shoppers’ changing needs and their quest for great value.   “People are looking for more to do when they go to a shopping center than just shopping. Tanger center teams went to the head of the class this back-to-school season. For nearly two months – and spanning several tax-free weekends – they welcomed the community to locations across our portfolio for family-friendly festivities and opportunities to stock up on favorite brands like Nike, Crocs, J.Crew and Gap at great prices.
