Join us as we celebrate National Coming Out Day with our DE&I committee, Pride at Swoon! National Coming Out Day was inspired by a moment in history - the 1987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, where 500,000 people marched for equality. This movement sparked a lasting impact, and one year later, LGBTQ+ individuals came together to create a day dedicated to embracing and celebrating the courage to come out. Today, we honor that legacy and continue to stand with those on their journey of self-expression and authenticity. "Being your authentic self at work isn't just about bringing your whole self to the table - it's about knowing that you're safe and valued for who you truly are. When we feel secure enough to be ourselves, we unlock our full potential, foster genuine connections, and contribute more meaningfully to the team. In an environment that celebrates authenticity, innovation thrives, and everyone benefits," Mark, Pride at Swoon co-chair.

Meet Our Swooner | Allison, Payroll Specialist Where do you call home? Chicago, Illinois How long have you been with Swoon? 2 years! What made you decide to go into Finance? “In my previous role as an Administrative Assistant in Nashville, I was introduced to payroll on a broad scale. I found it to be interesting, and the work itself was enjoyable. After moving to Chicago, I had the opportunity to learn Accounts Payable processing, which I also found rewarding. I’m happy I found a place at Swoon where I can genuinely enjoy what I do daily.” Why do you Swoon? “I “Swoon” for many reasons. 1. The flexibility that’s offered - it helps me balance my professional and personal life. 2. The camaraderie between departments - it’s great to see how other teams approach their work. 3. Creating connections by joining several of Swoon’s DEI groups. 4. The accounting team - I’ve never worked with such a capable and supportive group of people, and I genuinely appreciate the laughter we share throughout our workdays.” What do you like to do outside of work? “I love being outside! Whether that’s just walking, hanging in a hammock at a park, camping, kayaking, etc. When the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor activities, I love reading, painting, playing video games, or playing with my dogs. Something that people may not know about me is that I have a Duolingo streak of 817 days in Spanish (as of the date I’m filling this out).”

The way we define and hire talent is constantly evolving. Traditional job titles and fixed experience levels are giving way to more dynamic, skills-first approaches. This shift is driving the rise of skills-based organizations–where employees are evaluated and developed based on their abilities and competencies rather than just their previous roles or years of experience. See the pillars of a skills-based organization below. Want to learn more? Check out the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/eSJr-Jen
