  • As we take time to celebrate the strength and contributions of the American labor force, this is also a good time to reflect on those who are not free in their workplaces. Women and children, in particular, can be both labor and sex trafficked. Americans and immigrants alike are trafficked in low wage jobs throughout our country and community. Human trafficking happens on farms, in factories and at construction sites. Labor trafficking is often hidden in plain sight in salons, hotels, restaurants and private homes. They may work as nannies, housekeepers or landscapers. You can even find them working at Florida’s many tourist attractions. Turn your holiday weekend travel time into a lifechanging journey with the Imagine Freedom podcast. Hosted by STAC Executive Director Robin Hassler Thompson, each episode dives deep into powerful conversations with survivors of human trafficking. Hear their incredible stories and learn how we can all play a part in strengthening our communities against the harsh realities of sex and labor trafficking.
