Welcome, Patrick Heskett, Sunshine Communities' new Chief Information Officer! He joins Sunshine Communities after serving as the Principal Consultant for Enterprise Network Consulting Group, where he provided hands-on design and implementation experience in new hospital construction, VOIP/PBX replacement strategies, HIPAA compliance, security, and wireless clinical mobility strategies. Before founding Enterprise Network Consulting, Patrick led the network and technology initiatives for Mercy and ProMedica Healthcare Systems. He brings 25 years of healthcare administration and consulting experience to his role at Sunshine Communities. Throughout his career, Patrick has supported numerous regional and rural healthcare systems, including Mercy Health System, ProMedica, DeKalb Medical (Emory Healthcare System), and McAlester Regional. He is excited to bring his technology background and consulting expertise to Sunshine, helping to create a sense of community among those with developmental disabilities. Patrick feels deeply connected to Sunshine's mission through his involvement in community service, Challenger Baseball, and his passion for improving the lives of those with developmental disabilities.

Sunshine Communities, founded in 1950, provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The array of services offered includes residential, vocational and recreational. Our mission is to create community among people with IDD, their families, friends and staff. We do this by offering services that enable all of us to build relationships through mutual caring and growth. Sunshine Communities offers life-enriching opportunities that celebrate and nurture each individual’s unique abilities, interests and dreams, allowing them to find their place in the community. Sunshine Communities’ Core Offerings: • Intermediate Care Facility, for individuals with high medical and/or behavioral needs • Vocational Center, offering an array of enrichment and employment opportunities • Supported Living, providing supports within the individual’s home • Family Care Homes, for community living opportunities • Community Recreation • Community Employment for those who desire competitive employment • Supported Employment • Transportation Services to and from home and work Sunshine Communities also operates: • Georgette’s Grounds & Gifts – A fair-trade coffee and gift shop • Sunshine Studios – Offers a storefront of art and classes for the community, all while employing Sunshine artists with developmental disabilities who teach about and sell their art.

We applaud the Toledo Museum of Art for adding a universal changing table to their family restroom, making the museum more accessible for visitors of all ages and abilities.
