The death of SaaS, AI-powered super hackers, & agents at work -- it was fun moderating the 𝗔𝗜 𝘅 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 chat with Kindo, Riot Ventures, and VioletX!! 🤖
This event took place in Venice at Kindo's office during the whirlwind known as TECH WEEK by a16z
I already had 6 #LATechWeek events on my plate with Emerging LA,
But when Kindo (Sunset Ventures portco!) asked if I could moderate on a packed Thursday...
I said '𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵? 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦!'
Honestly, I do genuinely enjoy getting an opportunity to help my founders. Even these small things I can do to help, every bit counts right?
Let's just say that Thursday was a LONG day last week!
But I am SO glad that I said yes.
Sometimes moderating feels like work, but this discussion was a lot of fun!
• Panelists were amazing & super sharp
• Crowd vibes were energetic
• Then the audience asked some brilliant questions when I gave them the mic
Then I had my most unexpected encounter...
I met a 16-year-old high-school student. (𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭, 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸!?)
He is a full-stack engineer, and was there to meet people and learn. His goal is to find a problem to solve, so he could start building his company.
I was blown away...
Now 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 is an #EmergingFounder !

We kicked off the day with an engaging networking session, followed by a panel discussion on "Securing AI Data & Work Agents.”
Meet the Cybersecurity experts of the panel, who I dubbed the "2 Meg(h)ans and an Andy" :)
• Andrew Manoske is VP of Product at 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼, an enterprise software company focused on securely orchestrating generative AI. Prior, he was the first PM at HashiCorp, led the creation of Vault Enterprise (fastest growing open source security product in history), and stayed through the company’s IPO and $6.4B acquisition by IBM
• Megan Fulton is Co-founder of 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗫, which helps startups manage threats and align business and cybersecurity goals. Its customer base has grown to over 500 companies globally. Prior, she led companies like IBM, with a 200-person team, built a $200M pipeline, and worked with top healthcare clients.
• Meghan Moreland is an Investor at 𝗥𝗶𝗼𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, an early-stage VC fund in LA investing in founders building technology to modernize our critical industries. She helps to source, diligence, and support the portfolio of deep tech companies shaping areas like Space, hardware, robotics, manufacturing logistics, applied AI, and energy.
