Recently, we conducted an extensive training session for over 500 educators, dedicating time to ensure preparedness for the current school year. Our training involves a range of topics, including effective classroom management strategies, an in-depth exploration of our world class curriculum, and guidance to foster strong partnerships with parents. With this comprehensive preparation, our teachers are equipped to inspire and educate the minds of the future.

10 years ago, we opened our doors to our first high school, Success Academy of the Liberal Arts Manhattan. Now, a decade later, we have three incredible high schools full of competitive arts and athletics programs, dual-enrollment opportunities with some of NYC’s most notable institutions, and 100% of our scholars accepted to 4 year colleges (a stat that has been maintained since the very first class)! This year, we will have two graduating senior classes - our Harlem High School will celebrate its inaugural graduating class - marking another incredible milestone for our high schools. We are so excited to see our three high schools support the paths of the next generation!

Our Summer Experience Program provides access to learning opportunities all over the world in STEM, humanities, arts, talent, and outdoor leadership. These programs help build skill sets and give our scholars incredible experiences that challenge them to continue to grow and learn outside of the classroom. We caught up with two Success Academy High School of the Liberal Arts-Harlem scholars about their Summer Experiences. Leonardo R. spent the summer on an expedition in Iceland and Ermina K. studied medicine at the Oxford Royale Summer School in the United Kingdom. When asked about their experiences, Leo said, “Outside of my comfort zone, I was able to experience things I could never do in the city. I’m so privileged to have been able to do this with my summer,” which is one of the main reasons why we offer these free experiences for our scholars! It’s official, everyone is back in school and we couldn’t be more excited about it! Each year, we look forward to welcoming our scholars — new and returning — to the classroom. This year, we’re even more excited because it's the year of the Education Moonshot! We’ve reverse-engineered all of our K-12 content across every subject and are teaching brand-new disciplines to ensure an exceptional education experience for our scholars and teachers. Meet your new SA high schoolers! On their first day, they learned that while they focus on working towards getting into the college of their dreams, we will focus on making sure the next four years are the best part of their SA journey. Over the past few weeks, our organization has diligently trained hundreds of teachers - equipping them with the tools and expertise needed to deliver a high-quality education to our scholars.
