Today, we are excited to shine the spotlight on Cheryl Patrice, our dedicated Blood Bank Supervisor! For 21 years, Cheryl has been a vital member of our team, and her dedication extends well beyond her job - she has been a passionate blood donor for over 35 years. At the last Sturdy Memorial Hospital Blood Drive, she reached an impressive milestone by donating her 75th pint of blood. Sturdy Health is proud to congratulate Dr. Brian Patel for being named a 2024 Diversity Leader by Modern Healthcare! Dr. Patel championed the development of Sturdy Health's three-year DEI and Health Equity Strategic Plan and serves as a catalyst to integrate a culture of DEI throughout our organization. Some of his many accomplishments include creating a community resource guide to meet patient needs (such as expanded language access and transportation to medical appointments), delivery of medically tailored meals for optimal maternal-fetal health within vulnerable populations, and implementation of the PRAPARE screening tool resulting in over 1,100 referrals surrounding food or housing insecurity and 392 referrals for behavioral health services.
