Last month, the Stronghold Leadership team, along with local companies, veteran leaders, advocates, community members, and event volunteers came together to champion veteran education at Stronghold Leadership’s Charity Golf Tournament. We are proud to share that this event was our most successful fundraiser yet! The funds raised will provide nearly 200 hours of course instruction for veteran students — a transformative gift that holds the power to change lives. Meet Stronghold Leadership Project Management Instructor, Larry Saunders! Larry has over 25 years of computer training and staff development experience. He specializes in standard desktop and desktop publishing applications, including the MS Office Pro Applications, Visio, Windows, and Project; Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat; and various proprietary applications. Larry also instructs several soft skill courses including, Fundamentals of Communication, Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Skills and holds both Project Management Certifications and a MCCT Certification. As a professional mentor, coach, and speaker, he has assisted numerous organizations with business strategies, resulting in improved performance, developed skills, and increased productivity. Larry also assists other facilitators in learning software applications, conducts client needs assessments, performs classroom hardware and software setup, and consults on custom course development. He has instructed over 1000 classes, with an average student evaluation score of over 97%. Meet Stronghold Leadership Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Instructor, Patrick Courtney! Pat is an experienced, innovative operations leader with 40 plus years developing and improving processes and quality systems within start-up and established manufacturing and service organizations. His operations, process improvement and quality management professional portfolio include food, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic, biotechnology, and pharmacy benefit environments, with improvement successes in laboratory, manual and automated processes. Recent focus has been on successful implementation of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO17025), and Lean Six Sigma training and facilitation in the biotechnology industry. In addition to these professional achievements Pat is an instructor for Stronghold Leadership, teaching the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification class. He is a consultant focusing on implementation of Quality Management Systems and Continuous Improvement in multiple organizations. Pat is also an adjunct instructor at Drexel University with a focus on Lean Six Sigma and Manufacturing education. His focus on education is rooted in experiential learning through hands-on activities and practical use of the LSS toolset. Pat has a BS Degree in Biology and MS Degree in Water Resources Engineering. His passion for continuous improvement started early in his career, obtaining certifications in Quality Engineering and Quality Management through the American Society of Quality, and is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Rebecca has spent the last decade helping businesses and nonprofit organizations grow through data driven decision making and analysis. Rebecca is a quantitative expert, completing two master’s in public administration and business analytics. The first from Johns Hopkins University, and the second from American University. Rebecca is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, knows 8 coding languages, and is a change management practitioner. She has a passion for process improvement and improving businesses through strategic decisions! In addition to teaching the Change Management and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt courses at Stronghold Leadership, Rebecca holds an adjunct instructor position at American University where she focuses on courses in business analytics and data science.
