As experts in the software that drives our nation’s safety data, we know first had the volume of various incidents affecting our communities everyday. It’s the beginning of a new Era of transportation with the major announcement from U.S. Department of Transportation with the Saving Lives with Connectivity: A Plan to Accelerate #V2X Deployment.” As V2X is adopted and implemented the we see safer roadways for vehicles, bikers, cyclists, and pedestrians. #ThisisourSafetyEra https://bit.ly/3WPx800
Something significant at the intersection of transportation, #safety and connectivity to report→ I was at U.S. Department of Transportation HQ for the release of the agency’s new ‘Saving Lives with Connectivity: A Plan to Accelerate #V2X Deployment.’ A big deal... and a major RESET moment in the long and winding road to get this lifesaving technology deployed. V2X (aka vehicle-to-everything) holds a lot of promise... but it’s been held back by regulatory uncertainty. Ahhh, yes... the dreaded regulatory uncertainty. But it’s true... calls for a policy and regulatory environment to support widescale V2X deployment (including from Alliance for Automotive Innovation) have gone largely unanswered. Until now. Some great leadership and lots of credit to Administrator Shailen Bhatt of the Federal Highway Administration and USDOT Research and Technology’s Dr. Robert C. Hampshire for getting this national strategy across the finish line. It tells me this: We can work as partners – government and industry – and use cutting-edge technology to SAVE LIVES. AI is having an impact on all of our lives today, but perhaps none more evident and impactful than it is currently having on our Congressional Representative Jennifer Wexton. Due to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, she has lost the ability to speak as she finishes the final months of her term. This technology has not only allowed her to communicate again in her real voice, but also provides her, her family, and friends much needed joy during this challenging time. Today we celebrate the return on Congresswoman Wexton's "new/old" voice and cannot wait for the future impact this technology will have and will continue to have on those who face medical and accessibility challenges in the future. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ https://lnkd.in/ejarYukF
