Congratulations to Joey Nance, who was named St. Mary's November Employee of the Month! 🎉 Joey works in our Maintenance Department and has been a great asset to the team since he came to St. Mary's over a year ago. He works hard to help the maintenance team maintain our healthcare facility and always does it with a smile! Helpful and handy are two adjectives to describe Joey. Thank you, Joey, for your dedication to quality. We are honored to have employees who embody your spirit and work ethic.

The St. Mary's Rehab Institute staff hosted their annual fall bake sale to help raise money for their community project, The Salvation Army's Spruce Up a Life program. The proceeds will help the rehab group sponsor a family in need this holiday season. This is an annual tradition that continues to be a popular day for employees to purchase homemade treats, which include take-home heat-and-eat meals, brownie selections, Chex mixes, cookies, dessert bars, and so much more! If you missed this bake sale, they host another one in the spring to raise money for another community project.

The Service Excellence Standards team hosted a "Fall Bake Off" where employees volunteered to bake and bring their favorite fall treat! 🍰 🍁 🧁 🍂 The competition was judged by our CEO, CFO and CNO. Drum roll for the winners! The winner of the "Best Taste Award" went to Mary Jo Powers for her butterscotch cake torte. The winner for "Best Presentation" went to Maureen Cook for her spooktacular boo brownies. Each winner received a Katy's Pantry gift card. The Service Excellence Standards team at St. Mary's would like to thank all the employees who participated, and we look forward to next year's treats. We must say everything was delicious!

We joined other community organizations and businesses at the United Way of Northwest Oklahoma's Annual Chili Cookoff. Each organization donated gallons of their "best" chili to be sampled by judges and members of the community. Bragging rights were at stake for the "Best" overall chili, the "People's Choice" chili, and the "Best" themed booth. St. Mary's had our own internal chili cookoff earlier in the month to determine who would prepare our "best" chili for the local competition. Abigail Padilla was our internal chili winner and her chili did not disappoint at the local level. Thank you to all of our employees who helped raise money for the United Way during this year's United Way Campaign.
