"It’s rewarding to work for a company that gives back to the community, provides reassurance to customers, and invests in its employees." Levi, talent operations manager, is celebrating his 20th anniversary this month. He reflects on his tenure and the elements that have had a positive impact on his career. "I am a third generation State Farm employee, my loyalty and employer commitment run deep. "I started in the contact center and now I serve analysts in our HR&D department. It's been rewarding to have a long career comprised of a variety of jobs, like a career passport." In addition to leading a team, Levi is actively involved in employee resource groups and serves as an area lead for advocacy for disabilities and education (ADE). "The most rewarding aspect of my career is helping others realize and achieve their dreams. This month is Disability Employment Awareness Month. Our team supports diversity initiatives and programs by championing for the disability community inside and outside of State Farm. "Hispanic Heritage Month holds great significance to me because it provides a platform to proudly showcase our traditions and rich cultural heritage to the world." Debbie, an underwriting section manager, sees her Hispanic heritage as a bridge to connect and collaborate with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. "When I first joined State Farm, I didn't have connections within the company. It was common to hear others mention their family or friends who worked here. "By actively engaging in employee resource groups like the Hispanic Employee Resource Organization (HERO), I discovered a connection to something familiar. This not only provided a sense of belonging but also opened doors to meaningful mentoring relationships." Inspired by her experience as a committee member, Debbie became a Co-Lead for HERO, with the aim of contributing to its growth and providing support to others. "Taking on the position of a Co-Lead for HERO has allowed me to give back to a community that has profoundly influenced my own journey. "The organization's commitment to attract talent from diverse backgrounds contributes to a dynamic workplace culture and fosters a sense of belonging for everyone." "My inspiration for entrepreneurship was ignited by my father. As the first member of our family to move to the United States without knowing a word of English, he built a life and business from scratch. I appreciate the opportunities and accomplishments I have experienced in my own journey because of it." State Farm independent contractor agent Ivan Huerta, a proud first-generation Latino born in the U.S. and first in his family to graduate college, began his insurance journey assisting Spanish-speaking customers on a sales and service team for a different company. After taking a break from insurance for a few years, Ivan recognized his passion for educating customers and returned as a team member for a local State Farm agent. "Upon discovering the range of products offered by State Farm, I noticed a gap in my community. This inspired me to create a safe environment to support and simplify the complexities of insurance for State Farm customers. "My team and I prioritize education and actively engage in discussions to tailor our services to meet individual needs. It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community I am privileged to serve!" As a young child, State Farm independent contractor agent Yolie Aleman-Rodriguez recalls often translating for her Spanish-speaking parents who relocated to the United States before she was born. "I vividly remember an incident where my father's truck was stolen while my parents were insured by a different carrier. I had to translate to my parents that the incident was not covered under their insurance policy. This reshaped my career aspirations, fueling my desire to help other families in avoiding similar situations." After graduating with a degree in business, Yolie worked in various roles for State Farm corporate before pursuing the agent opportunity. "In 2002, I discovered my dream career and became one of the first bilingual State Farm agents in Tolleson, Arizona. Now, my team and I passionately serve as a support system for the Hispanic community. My husband, who is also a State Farm agent, and I share our dedication and love for this incredible career. As I reflect on the joys of the last 22 years, I am eager to see what the future will bring!” Learn more about becoming a State Farm independent contractor agent: https://lnkd.in/giWjAvk9 #HispanicHeritageMonth
