Our MAKING A DIFFERENCE series celebrating 20 years is all about shining a light on longtime Standard Solar employees. Next up is Jay Smith, our Director of Asset Management, who has been with us almost 9 years. 💚Highlights Jay explained that it was fascinating to see the engineering department grow from 8 to over 30 employees, supporting the design and installation of hundreds of MW. He told us that it has been inspirational to support the development of a diverse team of individuals, each with unique personalities, perspectives, experiences, passions, and expertise, all unifying around a common goal of driving safety and quality solar asset performance. 😀Jay's favorite aspects of working at Standard Solar ✅The critical thinking, challenging environment, and determination for excellence exhibited by team members - all of which has made his time working at Standard Solar so special. ✅The enjoyment in the company of colleagues and friends demonstrating the limitless impression we will make on the future. 🌅On the horizon Jay explained that, given that data systems, integrations, and AI are becoming part of the day to day, the team is making strides to design data systems with the future in mind. The company understands that successful businesses will balance asset performance against the key drivers toward optimized system operations, something that will allow for new and developing career paths. At Standard Solar, this manifests as everything from implementing solutions and processes that yield the safest operating facilities to managing data to ensure information is not lost, transformed, or corrupted. #PoweringTheEnergyTransformation #communitysolar #commercialsolar #assetacquisition #20YearAnniversary

😀🗳️Time to VOTE! Standard Solar and our developer partner ECA Solar are very proud that our Woburn EPA Superfund Solar array is a finalist for this year's Solar Builder Magazine awards. The 4 MW farm is making a substantial impact on the City of Somerville, Massachusetts, generating about 5,200 megawatt-hours of energy on an annual basis. Located on what was once dubbed “the fifth-most polluted site in the nation,” the converted brownfield site is now a prime example of how clean energy can revitalize disused land - and bring economic and environmental sustainability to our nation’s cities. Cast your vote (you can do it once a day!) for the project here: https://hubs.li/Q02RT1yc0 And want to know more? ❗Incredible! We’re in awe of this stunning red-tailed hawk captured in a drone shot over one of our solar projects in Vermont! The timing is perfect, as the 11th Annual International Hawk Migration Week was just last month. With 113 sites across the Americas counted during the same week last year, we’re thrilled to have caught this magnificent bird on camera! https://hubs.li/Q02RtbPq0 #PoweringTheEnergyTransformation #communitysolar #commercialsolar #assetacquisition #solarpv

🎙️“Energy communities have historically borne a disproportionate burden of pollution over the past century…solar facilities on landfills present a unique opportunity to revitalize these areas, repurposing previously unusable land into clean energy hubs.” - John Finnerty, Director of Business Development for Standard Solar John captures one of the reasons why our team embraces brownfield solar projects: the benefits to the surrounding communities are so very apparent. This newest acquisition of a 5.7 MW array on a New Jersey landfill from Trinasolar is anticipated to generate about 8,000 MWh of clean energy upon completion in late 2025. The Pennsville Landfill will help mitigate the environmental and economic impacts of the past 6 decades of operations of the nearby generating station and result in significant long-term tax revenue for the local community. 🤝Next up in Standard Solar's 20th Anniversary series PARTNERS IN THE ENERGY TRANSFORMATION is ECA Solar, a leader in commercial-scale solar development. In 2021 we acquired a 5.7 MW community solar garden in Bethel, Maine, one of the first in the state, in partnership with ECA. Two years later we partnered with them on a 4 MW array at a brownfield, an EPA Superfund site in Woburn, Massachusetts, that is set to significantly offset Somerville’s electricity costs. Said ECA Solar founder and CEO Todd Fryatt: “ECA values its partnership with Standard Solar in completing this, and other, solar projects.” Read about the Woburn site https://hubs.li/Q02NlK5m0 #PoweringTheEnergyTransformation #communitysolar #commercialsolar #assetacquisition #20YearAnniversary
