We are grateful to live in the Dayton community where so many individuals and organizations like AES Ohio Foundation work together to love their neighbors! Their support helps make our shelter ministries possible to serve 500 guests each night, including 80 children, who have nowhere else to go in their time of need. It is only through the financial support, volunteering, in-kind donations, and prayers of our caring community that St. Vincent de Paul is able to walk with our neighbors in need and love them as each of us is meant to be loved. Thank you! #LoveYourNeighbor #LoveLivesHere #bettertogether

We are so grateful to be part of such a caring community! #BetterTogether #LoveYourNeighbor
Yesterday was our annual Accountants in the Community day! Our employees spent the day volunteering at various local non-profits in the area. Some key highlights include over 70 students went home with a new pair of shoes (Shoes 4 the Shoeless). 163 bunk mattresses cleaned and stacked, plus 12 cabins cleaned (Indian Hills 4-H Camp, Inc.). Best of all, one cat found their forever home with a Flagel employee (Humane Society of Greater Dayton)!

Thank you Diné Development Corporation for your generous donation! Bagged lunches are essential to helping feed the 500 guests we serve in our shelters each night. #BetterTogether #LoveYourNeighbor
✨ #Community and #impact continue to fuel our mission. This month, our #DDCcares Dayton team came together to prepare bagged lunches for those in need, supporting St. Vincent de Paul Society, Dayton District. Through our collective efforts, the team provided 225 lunches in August, making a difference in the local Dayton community. Our #DDCFamily continues to demonstrate that compassion and service are at the heart of what we do. Thank you to our employees for your dedication to helping our community thrive! Thank you so much for your hard work this summer Caroline Doorley! It was a blessing to have you as a part of our team!
This summer I had the opportunity to work at the Our Lady of Light Family of Parishes as a youth ministry intern, at St. Vincent de Paul Society, Dayton District as a project intern, as an orientation leader at Marian University Indianapolis, and finally as a college mentor for Encounter at Marian University Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress. As the youth ministry intern I was responsible for designing branded merchandise, interacting with teens, and creating/advertising/running college student connect group nights. For a more in depth reflection about my time as a youth ministry intern visit the Our Lady of Light website: https://lnkd.in/gJPmWB27 As the SVDP project intern some of my responsibilities included working on revising a business plan, market research, and volunteering/serving the women and families homeless shelter. As an orientation leader I was responsible for creating a postive and welcoming atmosphere for incoming students, acting as a resource for families and students before, during, and after their orientation, actively attending orientations and welcome week programs. Finally, as a college mentor I was responsible for serving as a small group leader, mentoring high school participants before, during, and after the NEC, and orienting participants to Marian University as an ambassador. I also worked as the design team captain, in this role I sat in on meetings discussing branding and social media for the Encounter experience. Overall, this has been a summer of learning and experiencing. My biggest takeaway from this summer was that your ability to be effective in any ministry is directly related to your ability to be uncomfortable. This summer my primary focus was on learning the non-profit world. I am so glad that I was exposed to professional development, spiritual formation, and realtional ministry through all of my different experiences this summer.
