SRI scientists are developing a cell-based platform that could become a cancer killer. For nearly a decade, Parijat Bhatnagar, Ph.D., senior program director of cell-based medicine at SRI, has been leading a cross-disciplinary team of scientists to develop this breakthrough precision medicine technology. The platform uses an often-undervalued subset of helper T cells to deliver potent antitumor proteins for solid tumors, overcoming dose-related toxicities. DYK? 30 years ago, SRI established the first Virtual Private Network (VPN). VPNs allow network hosts (like PCs and servers) to exchange network messages across another network as if they were part of the same network. For example, users might employ a VPN to connect to their work computer from home to securely access their email and files.
