Spero is a peer-run, peer-led residential recovery program for men and women who want to live and thrive in recovery.
About us
Spero Recovery Center is a peer-run, peer-led residential recovery program for adult men and women who want to live and thrive in recovery. Guests of Spero will stay onsite for a minimum of 30 days, with the option to stay up to 90 days. While at Spero, our guests will be immersed in the idea that together we can accomplish what we cannot do alone. Guests will take ownership of their program and its day to day activities through a curriculum designed to build community and fellowship. Rooted in the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, Spero’s program focuses on high accountability and the desire to change our current habits in order to live a full life. With clinical oversight, our guests are given the opportunity to evaluate past behaviors, repair relationships and embark on a new adventure in sobriety surrounded by staff and volunteers who have walked the same path.

Our priority is keeping our community safe, and we look forward to resuming our open mic on the first Saturday in December. Some leadership restructuring appears afoot at R1 Learning. After the apparent departure of Pam Harley (of Clarke & Esposito) - who had been wearing multiple hats as R1’s Chief Product Strategist, a member of the firm’s Ownership/Leadership team; as well as R1’s Scientific and Technical Publishing Advisor – many of R1’s remaining Advisors have seemingly been elevated to Partners & Advocates. Some of these people have been advising Tom Karl since the early days of R1 and bring a trove of knowledge, experience, and business acumen to their new roles. These new Partners include luminaries such as: Kimo Kippen – Former Chief Learning Officer for Hilton. Similar roles for Marriott International. Rob Lauber – Former Chief Learning Officer for McDonald's.
