Celebrating Disability Pride Month with Inspiring Stories and Meaningful Connections Green Oaks Senior Living is committed to supporting adults with disabilities through various initiatives. This spring, they donated their Derby Hats to Misericordia in Chicago and have been actively "Crafting for a Cause" to create items for Misericordia's annual Craft Fair in September. Many of the residents at Green Oaks have personal connections to Misericordia, with family members living there and others having grandchildren with disabilities. In honor of #DisabilityPrideMonth, Green Oaks Senior Living invited Maggie to speak with their community. Maggie, a friend of one of the resident's granddaughters, shared her experiences living as a developmentally disabled adult. She resides in a group home, works at Mariano's grocery store, and is involved in acting, sports, and numerous social activities. Maggie has also participated in the Special Olympics, showcasing her diverse talents and determination. Her love for people and outgoing nature made her visit both enlightening and enjoyable, helping everyone at Green Oaks deepen their understanding of living well with a disability. Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your story and inspiring the community at Green Oaks Senior Living! #GreenOaksSeniorLiving #DisabilityPrideMonth #CommunityConnections

For 23 years, Chuck captured the world for National Geographic, working with top photographers and leading as the Director of Photography for World Magazine.
