Happy Halloween from Spacesmith! In the Halloween spirit, we're digging into the rich architectural history behind Manhattan's many graveyards -- both those still standing and those that have completely transformed over time. Join us on a twilight stroll through these historic cemeteries, guided by partner Marc Gordon: A Grave Matter: https://lnkd.in/eX2W9edK A Grave Matter - Part 2: https://lnkd.in/emA8S5Rq

Our team had an unforgettable evening at the 2024 Common Bond: The Center for Architecture Gala! Honoring TSCHUMI BERNARD, Gotham Organization, the New York League of Conservation Voters, and Michael Henry Adams, this year's event not only celebrated our city’s unique design story but also raised funds to support CFA’s K12 programs, exhibitions, and scholarships. We’re honored to be part of a community that champions exemplary design.

We are so proud to contribute as lead interior designer on the new U.S. Consulate in Nogales. Congratulations to the Office of Overseas Buildings Operations and the entire design team, led by Ennead Architects, on this important milestone.
📢 New U.S. Consulates in Hermosillo and Nogales Strengthen U.S.-Mexico Partnership The U.S. Department of State's Office of Overseas Buildings Operations has marked significant milestones with the opening of the U.S. Consulate in Hermosillo and the dedication of the U.S. Consulate in Nogales. These new facilities, inaugurated by U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar, Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo, former OBO Managing Director of Construction and Security Management Tracy Thomas, and additional U.S. and Mexican officials, represent a continued investment in the important relationship between the U.S. and Mexico. With a combined contribution of over $430 million, these projects will: •Enhance trade, security, and tourism efforts •Support sustainable development with advanced energy-efficient designs •Strengthen economic and cultural connections between both nations These consulates serve as hubs for collaboration and cross-cultural connection, reinforcing the enduring ties between the U.S. and Mexico. We’re thrilled and proud to have been part of bringing Beth Hutchens’ creative vision to life with the design of FOUNDRAE FINE JEWELRY’s stunning new Madison Avenue store. Honored to be part of their journey as they continue to expand! Check out the feature in Vogue below: https://lnkd.in/ej_y289F
A vision in red on Madison. A vision come true! We are excited to announce that our newest doorway is now open. 777 Madison Avenue — this address is magic. “Before I ever set foot in the space, I had a feeling it would be FoundRae’s newest home, because of its auspicious address: 777,” says Beth Hutchens, Founder & Creative Director. “Seven is my favorite number and has often appeared in my life as a sign that I’m on the right path.” The FoundRae space is a mix of a muted cinnabar red, a shade named for the faded stamp marks on centuries-old Japanese temple robes, and a scarlet hue used in FoundRae’s Strength tenet. These warm tones are paired with sophisticated deep walnut wood paneling and smooth camel leather. This new FoundRae location also includes an in-house workshop with a bench jeweler and a hand-engraver to assist in crafting a uniquely personal story.

It is an honor to be part of IAG, helping to support our diplomatic missions in every region with the best possible facilities.
Last week, OBO hosted its 2024 Industry Advisory Group (IAG) Annual Meeting, which proved to be a remarkable day of innovation, collaboration, and industry insights. The meeting, moderated by James Rodriguez, featured a "State of OBO" address from Director Will Moser, an update on last year's Annual Meeting recommendations from Douglas Dykhouse, the announcement of the Worldwide A/E Design IDIQ Stage 1 Shortlist from Curtis Clay, breakout sessions focused on data analytics, risk management, and tech-driven solutions, along with a workforce evolution roundtable. Led by Richard Sullivan, Victoria Hartke, Chelsea Bakken, Beth Slaughter, Mitch Miles, Alyssa Lapan, Laura Rogers, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, Lisa Kyriienko, and Andy Blackmore, each conversation was filled with impactful takeaways. We are eager to put these insights into action. Major highlights included a keynote by Evan Levelle on designing and building facades, a presentation by IAG Peer Thomas L. Mitchell, Jr., CFM, CFMJ, IFMA Fellow on the critical role of integrative facilities management, the public Q&A session, and the networking event, fostering further dialogue between OBO, IAG peers, and industry leaders. A big thank you to our IAG peers P Christian Bailey, AIA, SARA, LEED AP, Anne Marie Decker, Alysen Hiller Fiore, Jonathan Moody, Reid Nelson, Thomas L. Mitchell, Jr., CFM, CFMJ, IFMA Fellow, Thomas Phifer, Mark Robbins, Julie Snow, Robert Svedberg, FAIA, Marion Weiss, Elizabeth Whittaker, Bryant Farland, Cara L., Jeremiah Watts, Sandy Brock, PE, Patricia McCaffery, Nat Oppenheimer, Dan Sesil, Dave Riker, Christopher Budd, Jane Smith, Debra Lehman Smith, David Rubin, FASLA, FAAR, C.
