A few months ago, Tricia Wells, Director of Human Resources at SVP, was named a 2024 Honoree of the Birmingham Business Journal HR Impact Awards! The BBJ received dozens of nominations and selected 17 honorees based on their impact on the workplace in the last year and their strong record of innovation. Yesterday, Birmingham Business Journal named Tricia one of five overall winners–AND named her the Benefits category winner! 👏🏻 “Thank you to BBJ for recognizing our profession, which is very rewarding but can also be challenging, as we wear many different hats. I’d say the secret to my success is my team. I’m glad to be part of a company that wants us to improve continuously and understands that a strong culture is what drives business,” said Tricia. Congratulations, Tricia!✨ #BBJHRImpactAwards #amazingtogether #southernveterinarypartners #humanresources

“A lot of our staff ended up making more money, and they got a really good insurance package, 401(k), and everything, which we couldn’t offer–which was part of the reason to sell too.” - Dr. Paul McCullough at Animal Medical Center of Highland Village. When we welcome a new hospital partner into the SVP team, we make sure your teammates have what they need to succeed both personally and professionally. Because exceptional veterinary care doesn’t happen unless people have the support they need. ✨ Curious about what a partnership with SVP could look like for your team? We’d love to tell you more. In a profession where we constantly care for others, we can often forget to care for ourselves. At SVP, we care about building a culture where our teammates feel empowered and supported to be the healthiest and happiest version of themselves. When you’re having a heavy day, remember that your mental health matters & you are always deserving of support. ❤️ #nationalsuicidepreventionmonth #suicidepreventionawareness #mentalhealthmatters #vetmed #veterinarymedicine #southernveterinarypartners

“When we started talking to SVP about partnership, they asked us, "What do YOU guys want out of this?” They were really open to whatever we needed to make it the right fit for our team.” Dr. Emily Johnson at Dutch Fork Animal Hospital. Exceptional veterinary care doesn’t happen unless your team has the support they need. ✨ And who are we? A partner who wants to give you just that. We’re back with another edition of our Out Of Office series! Today, we’re celebrating Grant Gannon, Manager of Web & SEO and a talented woodworker! Grant started woodworking around seven years ago with a “very rudimentary desk made out of plywood and hairpin legs” (which is still in use today). “My professional career has been focused on building websites for various organizations. I love technology, and there's something special about showing people a beautiful website you've helped build and maintain. However, a website is intangible—you can't hold it in your hands.” “That's where woodworking comes into play for me. It not only forces me to disconnect from the internet and focus on precision, like getting measurements and angles just right, but also gives me a creative outlet that produces something tangible, warm, and shareable.” Grant has made everything from a coaster to a king-size bed frame, and each project demands complete focus and attention to detail. “My favorite project of all time is the set of tables I built for a local coffee shop my friends own. The tables were massive—10 feet by 3 feet and 42 inches tall—and my small garage workshop felt even smaller as I worked on building a matching pair. The project was a true test of everything I had learned, and over the three weeks it took to complete, I found myself questioning my abilities more than once. But in the end, it was all worth it. It brings me immense joy to walk in and see people gathered around, sharing a cup of coffee at the tables I built.” “Since then, there have been a lot of splinters, mistakes, and firewood made, but I still love starting a new project and seeing what comes of it. Creativity and problem-solving are just as essential when building a bookcase as they are when building a website. My job and my hobby complement each other perfectly.” #SVPoutofofficeseries #southernveterinarypartners #teammatespotlight #vetmed #amazingtogether
