GOB™️ - the first completely plant-based, plastic-free foam earplugs made from oyster mushroom mycelium. 🍄🟫🚀👏
COMING OUT OF STEALTH MODE, AND INTO GOB™️ MODE. Friends, I'm thrilled to share something big. It all started during the pandemic when my partner, Eric, formed a new band called DROUGHT (check them out on Spotify!). Suddenly, our house became a lot louder than I was used to. Around the same time, my mom lost her hearing. These two seemingly unrelated events led me down an unexpected path. To protect my hearing while still enjoying life's loud moments, I became a frequent user of foam earplugs. But as a material expert and co-founder of PROWL, a company dedicated to regenerative design, I couldn't ignore a glaring issue: these earplugs were made of harmful, endocrine-disrupting chemicals like PVC and polyurethane. This realization sparked a mission, one that brought PROWL’s mission of Beginning with the End™️ to life as a product. Together with my incredible team, we set out to create a solution. After months of research and development, I'm proud to announce the birth of GOB™️ - the first completely plant-based, plastic-free foam earplugs. GOB™️ isn't just an earplug; it's a tiny revolution. Made from lab-grown mycelium, our plugs protect your hearing without harming your health or the environment. They're fully home compostable, literally feeding the earth after use. But here's the kicker: we're not just solving a personal problem. Did you know the world manufactures 40 billion earplugs annually? That's enough to wrap around the Earth nearly 100 times! By reimagining this everyday product, we're tackling a massive source of plastic pollution and potential health risks. Incubated out of PROWL and its ethos, this launch is more than a business venture; it's a manifestation of my commitment to building a regenerative future. It's proof that with innovation and determination, we can transform industries and make sustainability accessible to all. As I step into the role of CEO at GOB™️, PROWL continues to thrive and grow, with Baillie at the helm. PROWL remains committed to pioneering regenerative design and will continue its incredible work with world-class clients. Ping me anytime for anything PROWL related and I will get the right folks involved! Our B2B site is now live at https://www.gob.earth/ and we plan to launch our D2C pre-orders in the fall.. Spread the word, let us know what you think, and come along for the ride with us in this new venture! https://www.gob.earth/

Our COO, Zoe Berman, attended the inaugural Bloomberg Green Festival in Seattle and spoke on a panel with Chris Granger of Oak View Group, Chris Roe of Amazon, and Meg Szabo of Bloomberg regarding the decarbonization of arenas. #BBG #BBGGreenFestival #TheFutureSoundsGood
I'm still processing the beautiful whirlwind that was Bloomberg Green Festival. I left Seattle feeling inspired and optimistic about the extraordinary technological developments emerging at this critical time in history (and the brilliant humans propelling them forward), but even more so, reminded of the unparalleled power of good storytelling surrounding climate, and the importance of interdisciplinary partnership in unlocking exponential impact. I had the pleasure of speaking on a panel with Chris Granger and Chris Roe, moderated by Meg Szabo, about the pivotal role of partnerships in decarbonizing arenas. Oak View Group and Amazon's pioneering leadership with the Climate Pledge Arena is a great indicator of the future of sustainable events, exemplifying a variety of (big and small) ways in which venues can influence audience awareness and engagement and shift industry paradigms. Also, I met Wyn Wiley (aka Pattie Gonia 💚), so that was a major highlight. 🌎🌱 #BBG #BBGGreenFestival #SoundFuture #GatheringforGood

Celebrate with me. I just published my 500th Forbes article. Thank you to Summer Jelinek - Professional Keynote Speaker & Brandy Schultz for being candid about their experiences as #neurodivergent #leaders. Researchers are just now skimming the surface of what it means to be a neurodivergent female leader. These leaders show up differently, and that’s ok—there’s room for all! Let’s start having those tough conversations and breaking the stigma. 500 articles & counting 30 Editors’ Pick recognitions 700 people interviewed & counting #letsdothis Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/ebT-qfQd

We did it - we brought the topics of AI, climate change solutions, and technology to Coachella music fest! Under a tent, pretending not be melting in the heat, having an open conversation with some of the festival attendees. A few takeaways: - Overall, a really poignant and fun reminder that there is an appetite for engaging on tricky techno-social issues if we can find ways to talk about them without too much jargon, getting to the core issue, and humility. Truly, being able to do this in any forum is huge honour and treat for me personally. More than that, I think it's essential to keep finding ways to have these conversations in public if we're going to accelerate solutions. - Quite an engaged audience! Much more than expected frankly, given that it was Saturday morning at a music fest... But people came, they stayed, asked good questions, and a few even hung around afterward to chat. - Questions and issues raised by the audience ranged from suspicion of AI's risk (or suspicion that advantages could be oversold); curiosity about how to balance upsides of new tech (e.g. cheaper, faster, more efficient, etc.) with downsides (e.g. what about all that AI & data center energy use). We also got into ethical questions about AI's role in creative arts and entertainment industries - Hunger for tangible examples of technologies that can make a difference. Some of which we could easily provide (e.g. NASA earth observation of rivers and other water and earth systems generally; solar power; electric vehicles; carbon removal), and some that are more esoteric for now (e.g. AI for materials discovery, logistics problem solving like siting of renewables, and engineering design optimization). Thank you again Global Inheritance and COACHELLA MUSIC FESTIVAL, LLC for having us out, Sound Future for your leadership, and Cedric David from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Kelci Zile (Sound Future), Sameer Gadhia (Young The Giant), and Chris Ruff (Activist Artists Management). #POSTedSpeakerSeries #GIxCoachella #GlobalInheritance #POSTedAtCoachella #CoachellaSpeakerSeries #ClimateSolutions #AIforClimate #ClimateTech
