Showcasing Sonoma County on a Global Stage: Highway 128 International Media Tour Did you know international visitors stay longer in Sonoma County than national travelers? To keep that enthusiasm strong, Sonoma County Tourism partnered with VisitCalifornia to host a showcase of quintessential Sonoma experiences along #Highway128 — one of our region’s most scenic routes. We were thrilled to welcome top journalists from Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Mexico, and the United Kingdom for a taste of our world-renowned wine, culinary offerings, and landscapes. From biking along the vines with #GetawayAdventures to intimate tastings at #RobertYoungEstate, #ZialenaWinery, #RanchoMaria, and #FrancisFordCoppolaWinery (where they dined on fresh, seasonal ingredients from the property’s organic herb and produce garden at #Rustic), each stop highlighted the unique quality that makes Sonoma County unforgettable. The group also enjoyed curated stays and meals in the charming town of Geyserville, with experiences at #GeyservilleInn, #CyrusRestaurant, #CatellisRestaurant, and #LocalsTastingRoom. A huge thank you to our incredible partners for helping make this international media tour a resounding success and for bringing Sonoma County’s story to new audiences worldwide! From October 18-27, restaurants across Sonoma County are serving up fresh, locally caught, and sustainable Black Cod in creative, chef-inspired dishes. This inaugural event is more than just a culinary experience—it’s a meaningful opportunity to support our local fishing industry and highlight the importance of sustainable seafood practices in our community. We are deeply grateful to the County of Sonoma and the Sonoma County Economic Development Collaborative for their key roles in bringing this initiative to life. Their support, along with the participation of local restaurants, showcases the power of collaboration in promoting both our vibrant culinary scene and our local economy. Explore participating restaurants at BlackCodWeek.com and help us spread the word by sharing your experience using #BlackCodWeek. Let’s come together to support our local fishermen, chefs, and the entire community in this celebration of sustainable seafood and Sonoma County’s rich food culture. #SonomaCounty #BlackCodWeek #SustainableSeafood #SonomaCountyEats #SupportLocal #FreshCatch #SeafoodLovers #EatLocal #SonomaCountyDining #LocalCuisine #LifeOpensUp

We’re laser-focused on growing #SonomaCounty’s visibility as a top travel destination, and our participation in VisitCalifornia’s annual industry media events is a strategic part of that effort. These exclusive gatherings give #DMOs the opportunity to connect with high-value media representatives—journalists, influencers, and travel writers who play a critical role in shaping travel trends. Most recently, our Senior Manager of Consumer Public Relations, Chris Vomvolakis attended the #LosAngelesMediaReception at the state-of-the-art #IntuitDome (future home of the LA Clippers and 2028 Olympic basketball). Engaging with nearly 90 top-tier journalists and influencers, Chris shared Sonoma County’s story with the media pros who drive national and international travel coverage. This is more than just networking—it’s about strategically positioning Sonoma County for long-term media partnerships that lead to sustained positive coverage. These relationships are critical to generating exposure that directly benefits our partners, helping drive tourism and revenue to the region. #SonomaCountyTourism #StrategicMediaRelations #PublicRelations #VisitCalifornia #TourismGrowth #DestinationMarketing #SonomaCounty #TravelInfluencers
