We often hear about the “perfect environmentalist” who lives a completely green life. But this extreme lifestyle can be hard to follow and might not inspire everyone to take action. 🧗🏽 Instead, we can find ways to make climate action part of our everyday lives by focusing on things that make us happy. This means finding actions that are both good for the planet and also bring us joy. 🌈 It’s important to remember that happiness isn’t always about buying new things or traveling. Sometimes, finding joy in simpler things can be better for both us and the environment. ♻️ Follow for more Climate Justice News: https://buff.ly/4dzmfpf #climatechange #environment #sustainability

In 2021, despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, Black-owned businesses grew by 14.3%, a big win considering they still hold the smallest share of employer firms across all racial groups. Black median wealth also increased, and revenue for these businesses jumped by 30%. 📈 But this progress is facing legal pushback. Recent court rulings against race-conscious policies, like affirmative action, have led to lawsuits challenging programs that fund Black-owned businesses. Now, some investors are unsure if it’s still legal to support these businesses, causing a lot of uncertainty. 🤷♂️ The good news? Experts say yes, it’s still legal. There are plenty of alternative ways to invest, like special credit programs, community financial institutions, and crowdfunding. These strategies allow investors to keep supporting Black entrepreneurs without legal risk. 🎉 The message herein? Hire Black Businesses!!!❗❗ Follow for more Climate Justice News: https://buff.ly/4gxcdI3 #energyjustice #equitableenergy #dignifiedlife #fairness #energyburden #energyinsecurity #youthaction #climateaction #activism #justice #action #localizedclimateaction #energytransition

Imagine your neighborhood floods all the time. The city wants to buy everyone's houses and tear them down to create a green space that absorbs water. They offer you money to move, but you don't want to leave your community and friends. This is a tough situation! 😤 This kind of thing is happening all over the U.S. due to climate change. The government can force people to move, but it's expensive and unfair. Wealthy communities can fight back more easily. The real question is: how can we help people adapt to climate change in a fair way? 🧐 🤔 There's no easy answer. Maybe the government could create a national plan to help relocate people and protect important cultural sites. This would take a long time and a lot of money, but it could be fairer than the current system. Looking for some inspiration? I spoke with leaders of 3 women-founded climate tech companies that are driving energy equity through partnerships with local communities, & organizations like Microsoft, T-Mobile & Okta. Hear how: Dana Clare Redden at Solar Stewards is integrating renewable energy credits into underserved communities; Laura Zapata at Clearloop is transforming renewable energy landscapes in areas like rural Tennessee, making solar projects an engine for economic growth; & Sean Kenney at Emrgy Inc. is bringing distributed hydropower to water systems. All 3 companies are part of American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE)'s Accelerate Program, which provides a robust community & resources to enable clean energy innovators to thrive: https://t.ly/5EBgK. Museums, once seen as just repositories of history, are now evolving into powerful platforms for climate action. People trust museums, and they want these institutions to address pressing issues like climate change. 🏛 Tools like YPCCC's Six Americas Survey help museums understand their audiences better. This allows them to tailor their messaging and programs to resonate with different groups. For instance, The Wild Center used this survey to discover that many of their visitors were alarmed about climate change but unsure about solutions. 😨 By sharing stories, promoting collective action, and busting myths about climate indifference, museums can inspire visitors to take action. They can be a driving force in creating a more sustainable future. ♻️ Follow for more Climate Justice News: https://buff.ly/3NfgG4t #socialimpact #equity #equityandinclusion #climatechange #environment #sustainability #youthaction #climateaction #activism #justice #action #localizedclimateaction #energytransition #museums #museumsforclimatechange

Climate change storytelling isn't just about facts and figures. It's about connecting with people on a personal level. Companies that can weave compelling narratives about the human impact of climate change are more likely to resonate with consumers. ❤️🩹🔗🌎 Just look at the success of films like Twisters and Interstellar, which have captivated audiences with their tales of extreme weather and environmental challenges. 🧗🏻 By combining science with storytelling, organizations like Creatives for Climate and Daughters for Earth are empowering people to take action. They're showing us that climate change isn't just a problem to be solved, but an opportunity for growth and transformation. 🚀📈 Through engaging stories, we can inspire hope, foster empathy, and build a more sustainable future together. 💚 Follow for more Climate Justice News: https://buff.ly/3zGgXdL #energyjustice #equitableenergy #dignifiedlife #fairness #energyburden #energyinsecurity #climatechange #environment #sustainability #youthaction #climateaction #activism #justice #action #localizedclimateaction #energytransition #storytelling
