A few weeks ago, Graham Christensen kicked off some drone-assisted cover cropping adventures using a Green Cover seed mix at his farm in Nebraska. 🌱 This innovative technology helps farmers work more efficiently with their land. We love seeing our farmer members share their regenerative journey!
Drone cover cropping adventures from a few weeks back. This is just one example of how new technologies can help farmers better work within their ecosystem. Intercropping cover crop seeds into standing crops helps our farm get a head start on plant growth in a northern climate which gives us max protection from soil erosion, and also gives us more grazing options. The seed mix from Green Cover Seed included triticale, vetch, oats, rye, and camelina. Thanks to my neighbor Matt Nelson for piloting the aircraft. I would definitely recommend him to others looking to interseed cover into standing crops. We are grateful for the helping hands! 🤲🏼

We’re very excited to announce that members from our Soil & Climate Initiative (SCI) team will be at the Regenerative Food Systems Investment Forum taking place this October 9-10 in Denver! The RFSI Forum will bring together 450 investors, capital activators, and critical stakeholders to activate capital across the regenerative food system. This event is THE gathering for learning the why, how and where to invest capital in agriculture and food for financial and impact returns. 👨🌾 I am excited to be speaking at the Regenerative Food Systems Investment in Denver, CO October 7th -9th. I will be speaking, along with my colleague Jeffrey Bos about the Regenerative Transition Services Soil & Climate Initiative (SCI) provides for investors, corporations and food businesses. 🌱 We need more acres under regenerative management and SCI provides the transition support needed to make investments in regenerative agriculture more impactful. At SCI, we collaborate with farmers across all production systems, aiding in their transition to regenerative, organic, and agroecological farming approaches. 💰This year marks my third consecutive attendance at this event. We need more dollars flowing across the supply web. It been a TOUGH year for farmers. As a former farmer with experience in starting up a regenerative brand, I know from firsthand experience the hard work, pain and then disappointment that hits when you just can't make the business work. There isn't enough investment and public funding moving into the space to support the regenerative sectors growth yet alone ability to thrive. I am excited to reconnect with industry leaders and innovators and discuss how we can better support the farms and start-up businesses committed to changing how we produce food for to the benefit of the planet, our health and equity in the system. I know the Regenerative Food Systems Investment is the place where real solutions will be cultivated. So do not miss out and be sure to join us! Look forward to seeing you there! Our Nutrient Density Alliance will be presenting for the Food is Medicine Coalition's internal conference this week! As more people learn about the benefits of regenerative agriculture and the connections between soil health and human health, we will see broader adoption of this work, leading to a more resilient food system.
We are delighted that the fantastic organization Food is Medicine Coalition has invited us to present on "Nutrient Dense Foods: Fueling from the Ground Up" for their internal conference tomorrow, September 17th. Our Managing Director, Mary Purdy, MS, RDN will be discussing the integral role that agricultural practices and #soilhealth have in determining the nutritional properties (or lack thereof) of our food and how this can help improve or detract from human health via the gut microbiome and numerous other pathways. #biodiversity #regenerativeagriculture #agroecology

Our dear friends & partners at the Non-GMO Project's Food Integrity Collective released their developmental white paper, "Nourishing Life: A Paradigm Shift for Food Integrity." This important document urges us to reconnect with the web of life and rethink our role within it. The paper explores the link between food integrity, cognitive function, and overall wellbeing, introducing the concept of "reciprocal thriving"— going beyond sustainability to ensure the flourishing of all life systems. 🌍 Download the white paper to learn more: https://lnkd.in/g83gmGbC
