Sociocracy For All reposted this
Never have we learnt about so many powerful initiatives to redesign philanthropy and governance around devolving power to community in one webinar. WEAll Aotearoa hosted three local and international thought leaders to talk about transformational participation today as it applies to leadership, governance and philanthropy for tangata whenua (Māori) and tangata tiriti (non-Māori) This webinar presented ideas and case studies to drive participatory economics forward including sociocracy, equitable access to funding and indigenous frameworks from Te Ao Māori. Our three guests were Maria Ngawati, IndigiShare (Aotearoa New Zealand), Alanna Irving, Gift Collective, Fundsorter, and The Wellbeing Protocol (Aotearoa New Zealand) and Ted Rau, Sociocracy For All (US). Thanks so much for a fantastic kōrero. Ngā mihi! Maria shared about Indigishare, which is working to bridge the gap in opportunities and access to capital for tangata Māori businesses. She is also working on how can our finance system can be more embracing of indigenous ways of being and the tikanga of koha. Alanna shared about The Gift Collective, Tauiwi Tautoko, The Wellbeing Protocol, Share collective and Fundsorter. Such incredible mahi! To highlight a couple, The Gift Collective is an umbrella org for initiatives without charitable status to receive philanthropic funding, managing compliance, has event registration features, and financial admin and transparency. Fundsorter (launched today congrats!) is an AI tool to support grant funding applications in Aotearoa making them more efficient, equitable, and easier. How do we make decisions together without a top down hierarchy? That was the focus for Ted who shared about Sociocracy, which is a new way for those doing the work to make decisions together based on consent and feedback loops. Top down hierarchies aren't the best or only way to organise! We feel a growing momentum of positive change and with initiatives like these, we are hopeful Aotearoa can be the home to tangata Māori and tangata tiriti envisioned in Te Tiriti o Waitangi with an economy in service of life. Watch the webinar here: https://lnkd.in/ekyPNdRK This webinar is one of a series leading up to the #EconomyForPublicGood Conference 28 November in Pōneke Wellington, where we’ll weave a shared purpose for moving beyond a broken ‘business as usual’ economy. If you’d like to build bonds and share ideas with people inspired to create an economy where people and nature thrive, this one day hui is for you. The conference will feature Dr Katherine Trebeck as international keynote speaker, thought leaders discussing the big ideas for Aotearoa 2040, practitioners sharing stories of the new economy in action, and in-depth interactive training and breakout sessions. Tickets for this in person conference are set at only $100 and numbers are limited. get yours here: https://lnkd.in/guKPBYHg

👀 Happy to see the children's parliaments in India (and their use of sociocracy) noticed by the press! https://lnkd.in/eubchBZV
