About us
Social Finance is a national impact finance and advisory nonprofit. We work with the public, private, and social sectors to create partnerships and investments that measurably improve lives. Since our founding in 2011, we have mobilized more than $400 million in new investments designed to help people and communities realize improved outcomes in education, economic mobility, health, and housing. Allen, a navy veteran living in rural Idaho, was ready for a career fresh start. With support from Social Finance's UP Fund, Allen enrolled in a short-term fiber splicing course through telecommunications school Learning Alliance Corporation. A few weeks later, he graduated and landed a job as a fiber technician earning $25,000 a year more than he made previously. “I’m making great money, great benefits. I can now splice fiber, which is a very in demand job. Everything here has opened for me," said Allen.
