Joel Geniesse, a driving force in the Raleigh business community, has been named a recipient of the prestigious Triangle Business Journal Corporate Leadership Award. This esteemed recognition honors exceptional C-level executives for their outstanding contributions to the Triangle region.   As the President of Smith Douglas Homes Raleigh division, Joel has been instrumental in propelling the company to new heights. Under his leadership, the Raleigh division has achieved a 92% Guild Quality score showing the level of customer satisfaction in his division. The division also earned a 98% employee satisfaction rate in the Great Place to Work Survey which was even higher than the company average of 95%. His strategic vision and ability to foster a high-performing culture have been key to the company's success.   Beyond his business acumen, Joel is deeply committed to the Triangle community. He is involved on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Raleigh-Wake County and is actively involved in the Governmental Affairs Committee. Joel is also a member of the Triangle Community Coalition and the Volume Builder Council.    Outside of his professional responsibilities, he founded Tao Hsieh Wu Shu, or the Way of Unified Martial Arts, which has received national recognition. He leads a martial arts ministry and teaches classes twice a week to help individuals become the best version of themselves. Additionally, he founded APE Defense, a 3-hour course designed to equip non-martial artists with defense skills. Joel and his wife, along with other volunteers, offer this course for free to the local community 1-2 times per quarter. They have trained over 1200 individuals in the last decade. Each year, Joel and his family also participate in a mission trip to Mexico where they work at a children's home and build homes for families in need. Joel's passion for giving back is evident in his tireless efforts to improve the lives of others.   The Triangle Business Journal's Corporate Leadership Award is a testament to Joel's exceptional career and his dedication to making a positive difference.
