SkillsUSA was recognized as the official U.S. representative to WorldSkills in 1973 by President Richard Nixon, and we’ve been proudly representing the United States at the event ever since.

Our State Officer Summer Program was a successful 3 day event. We crafted formal messages about the impact of SkillsUSA Michigan while filming a crowdfunding video at GameAbove College of Engineering And Technology, built advocacy skills while interviewing Jason Evers, a regional CTE leader, and demonstrated teamwork during our community service project at Livingston County’s Connection Youth Services. Great work was done by these young leaders! A big thank you to all who helped and to Wolverine Boots & Apparel for sponsoring this program again this year. We couldn’t provide these leadership opportunities without you!

The SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference was a fantastic conclusion to a year dedicated to pursuing excellence. SkillsUSA Michigan brought a delegation of 213 students, teachers, administrators and parents. We connected, competed and learned alongside others from across the country. We reminded the 16,000+ conference attendees that there is incredible skilled talent in our country. We brought home 16 medals, had 48 top 10 finishers, were recognized for membership increases, and had a high school member elected to National office. Thank you to our hardworking national staff for this experience. We are already looking forward to next year! #NLSC24
