CXL memory is revolutionizing data centers. 🚀 With high-speed and low-latency performance, CXL is essential for advanced applications like AI and autonomous driving. TheCUBE’s Rob Strechay talked with an expert panel during the Supermicro Open Storage Summit series about some of the benefits of CXL. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g7qpiee8 “CXL is from the get-go is meant as a cache and memory coherent link between the processor and the device. It runs on the same rails or the PHYs as the PCI links,” said Anil Godbole, Xeon CXL strategy and marketing manager at Intel Corporation. “That means we didn’t have to invent new IO ties … you simply run CXL as an alternate protocol or the existing PCI links of the processor, but CXL will allow or will lend itself to having lower latency and therefore higher performance compared to PCI.” 👉 Get ahead of the curve — explore the future of data center innovation today! #OpenStorageSummit #theCUBE #SuperMicro #Intel #MicronTechologies #MemVerge

Unpacking the future of AI and the challenges of data silos in the modern enterprise 🧠 At #VMwareExplore, John Furrier dives deep with Jonsi Stefansson into the critical role of unified data infrastructure in leveraging AI effectively. Jonsi highlights how data silos are the biggest blockers in fully capitalizing on AI, stressing the need for a unified storage approach to overcome these challenges. “If you read all the reports that are coming in, what's the biggest blocker in companies taking full advantage of AI? It is those silos, those data silos,” he furthered. “They can't access the data because they have a different storage architecture for their SAP, then another one for their VMware, then they're creating yet another one for their fine-tuning, training, inferencing, rack…” “You have to have a unified storage and you have to have the capability of bursting into the clouds… because like you talked about GPUs or circuits… there are so many different NVIDIA-certified partners that they have to burst into, because they don't even have the power budget to build up,” Stefansson concluded. 📡 Watch every session on-demand: https://lnkd.in/gbAYtnnR NetApp

Exploring the ongoing debate around AI regulation and its impact on states 🤖 David Linthicum of #theCUBEcollective discusses the differing approaches among states in regulating AI, highlighting concerns around bias, job displacement, and transparency. As states like California move toward more stringent AI regulations, there’s a growing debate on whether these measures will stifle innovation or protect communities. "I think this is going to be a bit of a balancing act... The differing approaches among states highlighted a debate that's ongoing right now. How do you harness AI's immense potential and power while addressing valid concerns about bias, job displacement, and transparency?" "And I kind of get both sides. I understand why California is proposing this because AI, in their view... is going to be this big scary thing where it has a potential of taking over business processes, displacing employees, and obviously AI systems don't pay taxes." "So we are getting to a point where states are moving into being AI-friendly, and states are moving into being AI-unfriendly, and people would consider California moving into the unfriendly category..." 📺 Catch the full story: https://lnkd.in/gJ4kfVcj
