  • We are incredibly excited to share the 2024 Edition of SVDG’s NATSEC100, sponsored by JPMorganChase. The purpose of this report is to offer a data-driven snapshot in time of our emergent techno-security ecosystem–one which we hope will drive meaningful, if pointed, discourse about the state of the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and broader National Security Innovation Base (NSIB). While this list is by no means a perfect encapsulation of the Ecosystem, we hope that—at minimum—it provides that data-driven foundation for the important dialogue we must continue to have loudly, honestly, and publicly.    This year, we hope you’ll recognize that several variables seem to be trending in the right direction. Even things we were surprised by. But overall, the picture is still far from rosy. There is a lot of work that remains to be done - by all stakeholders: industry, government, the private capital community. We all have a role to play. The question is how committed are we to playing those respective roles. There is no question - in our minds here at SVDG - about how much there is at stake. #NATSEC100 https://natsec100.org/

  • Thank you to Noctua Technology, Inc. for supporting this year's #NATSEC100 report, including the development of this year's NATSEC100 website!

Noctua Technology was proud to support Silicon Valley Defense Group’s 2024 NATSEC100 report launch last month! The NATSEC100, sponsored by JPMorganChase, is SVDG’s annual ranked list of the top venture-funded, national security-focused and dual-use startups. It was developed to offer a data-driven snapshot of the evolving techno-security ecosystem, and features analysis on key enablers and barriers to entry for venture-backed startups in the national security space. Noctua Technology quickly developed a scalable cloud-based web report which was featured in an exclusive Wall Street Journal article. We loved partnering with SVDG to help bring this impactful report to life! #NATSEC100 #cloud #webdevelopment #nationalsecurity

Today’s news highlights the importance of prioritizing software security at every phase of a product’s development lifecycle. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)’s “Secure by Design” (SBD) philosophy encourages developers to prioritize the security of customers as a core business requirement, rather than merely treating it as a technical feature. In this SVDG webinar, expert panelists will discuss the implications of CISA’s recent Secure by Design pledge. By committing to this voluntary pledge focused on enterprise software products and services, software manufacturers are promising to make good faith efforts towards achieving seven goals outlined by the pledge. Moreover, pledge signers are also encouraged to publicly document their approach so that others can learn from their experiences as well. Our webinar, featuring participants from CISA, a technology company that has signed the Secure by Design pledge, and representatives from the Hill and investment community, will explore the principles of SBD, the goals outlined by the SBD pledge, and share best practices developed through their prior experience. Panelists include: - Steve Faehl, Federal Security CTO, Microsoft Alexandra Seymour, Staff Director, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Protection subcommittee, Homeland Security Committee Tyler Young, Chief Information Officer, BigID (#NATSEC100 #24) - Lauren Z., Senior Advisor, CISA  - Jacqueline Tame, Acting Executive Director, Silicon Valley Defense Group / Operating Partner, Playground Global

  • Congratulations to PsiQuantum (#NATSEC100 #11) on the announcement of their far-reaching partnership with the State of Illinois, Cook County, and the City of Chicago to build the first US-based utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer. Whether at a local, state, or international level, comprehensive public-private partnerships are a necessity to facilitate meaningful investment into emerging technologies. Kudos to PsiQuantum, Illinois, and Australia for exemplifying how these partnerships can be used to push the forefront of technological innovation, drive economic growth, and enhance the national security of the United States and our allies. https://lnkd.in/gbQaRc48

  • Last week, The Wall Street Journal exclusively covered our 2024 #NATSEC100 report. The WSJ's reporting highlights some of the most concerning data featured in this year's report. In response to the fact that the NATSEC100 raised over $11B of private funding in just the last 12 months, spokespeople from the DOD pointed to the, "more than $7 billion in contracts to startups [awarded by DIU] since 2016," and claimed, "the gulf between private capital funding and Defense Department spending isn’t as wide as the report suggests because it doesn’t factor in awards that are classified."

  • If you missed our webinar about this year's NATSEC100 report, it is now available to view on our LinkedIn page, and through the post below.
