In advance of our 2024 Building Awards, we’re sharing some of this year’s most exciting submissions. 🤝 This week, we’re highlighting Premiere Pickleball, submitted by Mammoth, Inc. "This gut renovation of 14,000 SF, previously a roller skating rink, was completed to create a professional-level pickleball space with interior and exterior courts, full service 27' long bar, a smoothie bar and cafe kitchen, a pro shop, and a reception area. The courts are the most exciting and unique feature of the club. Sportsmaster coating, professionally installed in a beautiful color array of turquoise, black, and grey, brighten up the space. All wall art was hand-painted by the artist Poor Rupert. A four-panel mural showcasing color and movement, and a title mural covering the entire length of the space are only a few. The dink court, a special half court for training, practice, and lessons showcases an additional mural. The 27' bar, granite-topped bar with 6 big screen TVs allows for a full bar experience with or without pickleball. The outdoor party space allows players to relax before or after their games and provides a lunch area for school children on field trips or any reserved party or event. Pickleball is an inclusive sport and wheelchair accessibility was a necessity in the space. All courts are wheelchair accessible. " The awards, sponsored by Signature Sponsor National Grid, are scheduled for November 13 at the St. George Theatre. To learn more visit, sichamber.com

✨ICYMI✨ In our 2024 Consumer Guide, we covered five small business and nonprofit leaders that serve their communities far beyond the scopes of their storefronts. We’re excited to share the next story: Shawn J. Stradford, Stradford Funeral Home for Funerals and Cremations, Inc. 🤝👏 Early in his career, Stradford worked forensic pathology assistant for the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s Office (NCME), becoming only the second African American ever appointed to the office. Years later, Stradford encountered a tragic case involving a severely abused child. The case disturbed him, and he saw it as a sign to move on and start something new. All of the highlight stories and our 2024 Consumer Guide, made possible by Presenting Sponsors Amazon.com, Staten Island University Hospital , and the NYC Small Business Resource Network, can be found now at www.sichamber.com/cg2024.
