In a major milestone for the Northeast Corridor, Amtrak and partners have started construction on the new Connecticut River Bridge, set to replace the century-old structure.  This state-of-the-art bridge will allow trains to travel at speeds of up to 70 mph, improving efficiency and reducing delays. With a $826.6 million Federal-State Partnership grant and additional funding from Amtrak and Connecticut, this $1.3 billion project is a significant investment in the future of rail travel.
