Congratulations to Bedford County, TN and United Communications for being awarded the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Middle Mile Grant! Access to broadband is crucial to both education and workforce attraction. The Shelbyville-Bedford Partnership proudly supports the efforts of Connect Bedford and Mayor Graham’s vision to be one of the first fully-connected rural counties in Tennessee!
An additional $163 million will be awarded to provide broadband access and digital opportunity programs to more than 236,000 Tennesseans across 92 counties. “Broadband is essential to all Tennesseans, and that's why we are making strategic investments in our state's broadband infrastructure and digital opportunity programs to create a pathway to education, job training and greater opportunity statewide.” - Gov. Bill Lee Since 2019, TNECD has invested more than $715 million to expand broadband infrastructure statewide.
