Teamwork makes the dream work! Huge thanks to our awesome volunteers from Lowe's Companies, Inc. who came out to She Built This City's workshop and built 2 garden benches, a picnic table, and prepped birdhouse materials for another community partner! With our amazing community partners, we’re creating hands-on projects that make a real impact in our neighborhoods. Together, we’re building not just benches, but stronger, more vibrant communities! If your company or organization is interested in volunteering or team-building at our shop, we’d love to have you! Shoot us an email at [email protected] to learn more. Let’s build a stronger future together! #SheBuiltThisCity #LowesFoundation #CommunityBuilding #TeamworkInAction #BuildingTheFuture

October is #CareersInConstructionMonth, and we're celebrating the trailblazing women and aspiring professionals who are shattering stereotypes in the industry! The construction industry needs nearly half a million workers in 2024 alone, and She Built This City is proud to partner with the Lowe's Foundation to help close that gap over the next five years. 🚧✨ Our very own #KatieHaller is helping lead the charge by debunking one of the biggest myths in skilled trades in this article: https://bit.ly/lfcicm Our mission is to spark interest and create pathways to skilled trades for women, youth, and marginalized communities, breaking down barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields. Together, we’re building a future that includes and empowers everyone. #LowesFoundation #LowesFoundationCICM #WomenInConstruction #SheBuiltThisCity #BuildingTheFuture

Empowering the next generation, one hands-on skill at a time! 🛠️✨ We had an absolute blast partnering with #ForTheStruggle as they wrapped up our #YouthInTheTrades curriculum! This is the same program we’ve designed for middle schools, now adapted for an empowering #TeenWorkshop. Through FTS's incredible focus areas like the Community Response Team, The Eatmon Project, and SaluteU, we’re helping build stronger, more informed communities. 🙌 #YouthSummerWorkshopSeries #BuildingTheFuture #SheBuiltThisCity #ForTheStruggle Check out more of their amazing work at www.ftsinc.org and see how you can get involved!

Earlier this month, we celebrated #ProfessionalWomenInBuildingWeek and highlighted some incredible women we admire, like Nekia Mba, Principal Owner of Mba Development Group. She offered some words of wisdom inspiring all of us to show up as our best selves and own our place in the industry. Here’s to more women leading the way in construction and beyond! Are you ready to step up and lead in your field? Let us know how you're owning your space in the comments below! #WomenInConstruction #BuildingTheFuture #WomenWhoLead

🎉 We checked in on #Ashleigh, our very first graduate from She Built This City's 2-year #Apprenticeship Program, and she sent us this amazing video of her #FirstDay on the job! She's officially been working as a #FacilitiesMaintenanceTechnician with Northwood Ravin properties for almost a month now, and we couldn’t be prouder! Ashleigh is blazing trails as a certified #NCStateJourneyPerson, and we can’t wait to see her continue to make waves in the skilled trades. #FirstDayFeels #WomenInTrades #Trailblazer #ApprenticeshipJourney #BuildingFutures

Today is #NationalTradesmenDay! 🔨 But here at She Built This City, we’re taking a moment to acknowledge how it should be renamed to #NationalTradespeopleDay because the skilled trades aren’t just for men. Women and people from all backgrounds have been breaking barriers and contributing their expertise in construction, electrical, plumbing, and more! It’s time we celebrate all the incredible individuals who build and maintain the world around us. Let’s recognize the women and men in the skilled trades who are shaping our future and empowering the next generation to do the same. Join us in advocating for inclusivity and equality in every field, every day! #Tradespeople #WomenInTrades #EqualityInAction
