We've been heartbroken by the devastation Hurricane Milton has brought to so many kids and families in Florida, especially as they still deal with the aftermath of the previous storm. Our program colleagues are in close touch with local partners to see how we can help as communities navigate recovery. We are exploring ways that we can support these areas in the years ahead. In the meantime, we are eager to focus our collective attention on a group of local organizations and partners leading emergency relief work on the ground. We encourage you to support these efforts in this time of great need: ➡ Feeding Florida - supporting multiple food banks in impacted areas https://lnkd.in/gkXzyjxc ➡ Farm Share - statewide food distribution network https://www.farmshare.org/ ➡ Florida Disaster Fund - the official private fund set up to respond to Florida emergencies https://lnkd.in/eSwBnfy

It takes more than food to end hunger—check out this snapshot of our work from our Lillian Singh!
Spent 2 days with the Share Our Strength board and leadership council members during our annual impact trip in Chicago. We visited New Moms - one of our Bridge Builder partners. We witnessed real-time success stories and discussed their College Success Program. We were reminded that being a mom shouldn’t require abandoning academic dreams. Through monthly stipends, childcare support, and individual and group coaching, Share Our Strength supports New Moms to provide a resource for young moms looking to graduate from postsecondary education and find work in family-sustaining, living-wage jobs. Proud of my colleagues for our commitment to address the root causes to end childhood hunger in the United States. Investing in single mothers is crucial as they are one of the most food insecure populations. Despite being employed, they often earn low wages, facing significant obstacles that put them and their children at risk of hunger and poverty. Their success directly impacts their children's well-being. #EndChildhoodHunger #InvestingInSingleMothers #NoKidHungry

This #backtoschool season Kristen Bell helped us remind everyone that #food is the most important school supply. We’re grateful for her support in raising awareness as we work to ensure every kid has access to three meals a day, every day. That’s the #NoKidHungry promise.
It's back-to-school season again! Remember, schools are not just for learning but also serve as nutrition hubs for our children. We're incredibly thankful for the tireless support of Kristen Bell toward our initiative to end childhood hunger.
