"I used to be a math teacher. After my son was born, continuing to teach felt really unsustainable from both a financial and time commitment perspective." Every career path is different. Anna Daniele-Dinndorf, FSA recently got promoted to Senior Actuarial Consultant and shared a little bit about what life is like as an actuary on #TeamSecurianFinancial. 🌟 "𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼. They work in product development, product pricing, underwriting, finance, valuation, systems, modeling, risk management and hedging, just to name a few! I help design products and features that help people build financial security for their retirement. I like that it’s easy for me to see how my work connects to the big picture of what we do at Securian. Actuaries have a reputation for being number crunchers, but many of us have a creative side as well! I sing with Securian Sound, a choir of Securian associates and retirees. We do a holiday concert every year in December that’s always a lot of fun, and have sung the national anthem at Saints games and at the All-Company Meeting! 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. Employee resource groups are a big part of that for me. I joined the SWAN leadership committee this year and have loved helping to build a strong network of women at Securian – so much so that I will be a co-lead for SWAN starting next year!"

We had an amazing time at the 2nd Annual DAO Spooktacular, hosted by our Digital Analytics team! 🎃👻 The team showcased their incredible achievements made possible through collaborations with the ghoulishly talented teams from Employee Benefit Solutions, Individual Solutions and Marketing! We also explored how we can work together to advance analytics maturity, helping us use data to inform decisions, big and small. 🦸

We had the pleasure of hosting students from Metro State University today! 🌟 It was an incredible opportunity to share insights about who we are and what we do on #TeamSecurianFinancial. The students engaged in interactive sessions, explored our hybrid work environment and connected with our team members. Today is National Coming Out Day, a day of celebration and empowerment for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies! 💚 In honor of today, our Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) hosted a "Community Conversation," creating space for employees to discuss important topics. They also attended the 31st Annual National Coming Out Day Luncheon, an event we are proud to sponsor. Thankful for our Pride ERG and all they do to create a safe and welcoming work environment for everyone!
