🌿💚🌊 Today, 250 of our employees rolled up their sleeves alongside The San Diego River Park Foundation to give the #SanDiegoRiver some well-deserved #TLC – tender loving care. From Mast Park in Santee to the River Mouth in Ocean Beach, we dug in, cleaned up, and restored nature along this waterway to help protect this vital ecosystem. It’s a reminder that small actions, when combined, can make a big difference in protecting the environment we all share. 🙌 📲 Head on over to SDGEtoday.com/RiverRefresh to read more about today’s event. 🌎 #bringtheenergy

For me, #WomensEqualityDay is a time for reflection and a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible women leading the energy industry. My admiration extends to those paving the way like Lynn Good of Duke Energy Corporation, Patti Poppe of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Julie Sloat of American Electric Power, Lisa Grow of Idaho Power, Maria Pope of Portland General Electric, Bethany M Owen of ALLETE, Kelly Tomblin of El Paso Electric Company, and Mary Kipp of Puget Sound Energy. Your journeys, along with those of countless other women in the industry, are a testament to perseverance, passion, and the belief that women belong in every room where decisions are made. Thank you to all the women breaking barriers and lighting the way for a brighter, more equal future. #WomenInEnergy #BreakingBarriers #Leadership

Generating the energy needed to power our region takes water. 💧 We’re committed to conserving this precious resource by reducing freshwater use and increasing recycled water use at our facilities. Last year, we used 84% recycled water across our facilities, including at Palomar Energy Center, where we can generate up to 500+ MW of power for our community. By embracing sustainable practices, we are conserving water and securing a reliable energy future. 🌍💪

When life-threatening flooding impacted San Diego County in January 2024, many families had their lives upended as the floods destroyed their residences and displaced them from their homes. The floods, which impacted Southeast San Diego particularly hard, displaced over 1,200 households and caused over $30 million in damage. In response, United Way of San Diego County (UWSD) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) have partnered together to provide $180,000 in support to two nonprofit organizations helping Southeast San Diego residents affected by this disaster rebuild their homes. The Harvey Family Foundation and the San Diego Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) each received $90,000 to assist with housing repairs, housing restoration, the provision of materials and appliances, and more. SDG&E and UWSD are dedicated to standing by community members, providing support during these trying times, and ensuring the recovery process is as smooth as possible. Through this partnership, we are helping to address some of our communities’ most pressing needs to ensure no San Diegans get left behind.

Did you know that Feeding San Diego estimates that 1 in 4 San Diegans experience food insecurity? 🍽️ 🛒 Our nonprofit partner, Jewish Family Service of San Diego, works to address this problem through innovative programs like the Corner Market store, which offers a free food shopping experience for clients. We’re proud to support this work by donating healthy, unused food and snacks every Friday from our company’s cafés. To date, we have served more than 1,725 meals and diverted over 2,070 pounds of food waste from local landfills – demonstrating what’s good for the environment is also good for the community. 🌍💚 We’re committed to diverting 100% of organic waste from landfills by 2030! ♻️🌱 A huge thank you to the team that collaborated to create this simple, yet innovative solution. 🙌 Eurest #FoodInsecurity #EndHunger #CommunitySupport
